ALYZA's POV

Morning came, and there was still no sign of Hendricks. Not a single text from him, no reply to any of my messages. I fell asleep while waiting, and it's challenging to wait without any news. Perhaps they spent the whole night together. It seemed like an endless vampire affair had taken place.

Leaving someone in uncertainty is heart-wrenching. Yet, I need to stay strong, especially for my baby. Although it feels like stopping breathing is an option, I can't bring myself to do it. What about my baby?

"Baby, let's just play deaf and blind. Let's avoid stress," I talked to my baby like I was losing my mind.

"Let's imagine it's just the two of us on vacation," I continued in my somewhat crazy conversation with my unborn child.

"So, shall we, baby? Let's find a place to buy souvenirs. Amboy mentioned there are souvenir shops on the other side of the tiki huts. Let's go, baby," I said to my unknowing child.

As I walked, I reached the souvenir shops. There were so many beautiful items to choose from. I decided to buy Indonesian sling bags for the girls, key chains for the boys, and a dozen bronze elephants. I thought of making the elephant purchase a lucky draw for my office colleagues, adding some excitement to it.

"Miss, kindly choose for me 2 dozen sling bags, 2 dozen key chains, and 1 dozen of those bronze elephants," I told the vendor, but I didn't get to finish my sentence.

"Pack them all," she said to the vendor. "Want them wrapped individually? No extra charge," she added to me.

This annoying person again. Maybe she had nothing better to do, always bumping into each other at the resort.

"Okay, if they allow, sure," I replied.

"They'll allow, or else I'll close their shop," she confidently answered.

"Okay, if you say so. Is there a brewing tropical depression on your side?" I asked her.

"Why, is it windy outside?" she replied, trying to sound Alaskan.

"I don't know! How much for everything, miss?" I inquired.

"It's already paid. Someone with a lot of wind," she answered.

"Oh, maybe... you might go bankrupt. It's not my fault, okay?" I complained.

"Let's do it like this: you pay me when you get back to the Philippines. I'll charge you every payday. Is that a deal?" she proposed.

"Why? Probably so we can meet, and you have someone to annoy. You can't find me in the Philippines, you know?" I retorted.

"Let's see about that... The Philippines is quite small, you know?" she challenged.

"Hmm, I don't know," I responded.

"So, are we betting on it? When we meet in the Philippines, you treat me to breakfast, lunch, and dinner?" I asked.

"Oh, you're so greedy!" I exclaimed.

"I'll eat just a little, like a Miss Universe diet. Haha," she teased me.

Not all of it should be wrapped immediately, she told the vendor to deliver it to the front desk as soon as it's done. She instructed me to say it was for Alyza of room 14344. The person she talked to nodded in acknowledgment.

"Now, where to?" she asked me.

"I don't know," I replied.

"Don't you have an itinerary for today?" she asked. "If not, have your day with me. I know a lot of places to go," she tried to convince me.
