Chapter 5

"Okay, for those who answered my question. Very good and for those who didn't." She looked at the students briefly but firmly. "Tignan ko kung may magagawa ako regarding sa grade niyo."

Kahit hindi niya tignan. Alam niyang mukhang namatayan ang mga estyudante. Inayos niya ang mga folder na naka-kalat sa mesa niya bago tumayo at binigyan ng assignment ang mga ito. She then dismiss them. Nasa gitna siya ng pag-aayos ng iilang gamit niya ng marinig niyang bumukas ang pinto ng room.

Mayroon pa kasi siyang class pagkatapos ng current class niya. Hindi na niya pinansin iyon. Meron talaga estyudante na maaga pumapasok. Mostly mga dean lister. She felt her stomach grumble. Hindi kasi siya nakakain aninang umaga. Akmang tatayo siya ng biglang may naglapag ng paper bag sa harap niya.

She look at it before looking at the person who put it. Napabuntong- hininga na lang siya. This man scared her but also irritate her. Ever since that day, three days ago.

"Your food darling." Calcifer smiled before immediately kiss her cheeks. Sobrang bilis galaw nito na namalayan niya na lang na naka-upo ito sa upuan direkta sa harap ng desk niya. "It's your favorite so enjoy. I'm just gonna study for a while."

She just sigh, ignoring him. It's been a week since Calcifer have been doing thing he shouldn't do, pero nagpa- pasalamat siyang maingat ito. He don't act or say anything inappropriate infront of his classmates, only to her and by act inappropriately. She means kissing her with consent and calling her all sorts of cringe endearment but she has to say.

Calcifer is being a gentleman and a asshole at the same time. He always ask for her permission and opinion on everything. It all so new to her. She's not used to somebody asking her permission or opinion as if it matter to them. Everytime na mangyayari iyon may kung ano kumikiliti sa puso niya.

She's acting like a bitch on him but he doesn't seem to mind. Parang nage-enjoy pa ito. For a week Calcifer has been acting like her secret boyfriend. Sinubukan niya pa rin pigilan at iwasan ito pero walang umobra. Parang alam nito lagi kung ano ang tumatakbo sa isip niya and that scares her.

She knew how vulnerable she can become to a man's attention and affection. She knew herself enough. One time she give in, she got betrayed. Unconsciously her mind slip causing her to remember her boyfriend's infidelity and her step-sister. Bumuntong hininga siya bago iwinaksi ang iniisip niya. Gillian was once like Calcifer.

The effort and words that Gillian did. Calcifer is doing it all. She let herself fall and now here she is. Being betrayed. Kahit masakit, wala siyang magagawa. It's her words against them. Sigurado siyang walang maniniwala sakaniya kahit may ebidensya pa siya. Talk about unfair. After all of that somehow she couldn't leave them.

"Darling?" Calcifer worried voice snap her out of her reverie. "Why are you crying? Did I do something?" He then grab one chair before sitting beside her.

Doon niya napansin ang luha na namamalibis sa mukha niya. Agad niya iyon pinunasan bago inurog ang upuan niya papalayo kay Calcifer. "I'm fine Calcifer. Just go back to your seat. Baka may makakita saiyo." Malamig na ani niya.

Calcifer didn't move. Tinignan lang siya nito. Matapos ang ilang segundo tumayo ito bago pumunta sa upuan. Nakahinga siya ng maluwag pero agad nawala ang pagka-kampante niya ng nakita niyang may kinuha lang ito sa bag bago bumalik sakaniya. Before she could say anything Calcifer held her face, his warm touch seem to paralyze her. She couldn't move or say anything.
