Chapter 9

"Darling. Let's go home."

She heard Calcifer mutter before guiding her down the stairs quietly. Thankfully mukhang walang tao sa sala kaya tuloy lang ang paglakad nila. She was in daze and before she knew it nasa parking space na sila. Calcifer open his car door. She look at him, her mind is blank. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang mararamdaman niya sa oras na iyon

Pero kahit ganon alam niyang magiging okay siya dahil nandito ang binata sa tabi niya. Why does she feel calm with him?

Why? She doesn't understand or maybe her Mom is right. She never voice out her problem before, kahit ang panloloko ni Gillian. Lagi niyang iniisip na gusto niyang makipag-hiwalay pero hindi niya magawa pero ngayon na dumating si Calcifer parang gusto na niya putulin lahat ng connection niya kay Gillian.

She's like this because of Calcifer's attention. She clench her first as she drop her head down. She felt him step close toward her before holding her face, guiding it to look up and she did. Calcifer immediately smile at her as if assuring her everything is okay. "Darling. I miss you. Pag-usapan natin lahat ng ito, umuwi muna tayo. Okay?"

"I -" Before she could say anything. Tears started to fall from her eyes. Here she is again. She never cried Infront of anyone before and yet here she is. Calcifer shush her before hugging her and guiding her inside the car. "Calcifer - "

"Darling. I'm here." Calcifer let go of her. "And I will be, always. Okay?" Calcifer kiss the tip of her nose before closing the door gently before walking towards the driver's seat. Calcifer get in before giving a a reassuring smile. "Want to hold my hand darling?"

Hindi niya ito sinagot at umiwas na lang ng tingin. She felt Calcifer hand on her head, caressing it before he started to drive. Tahimik lang silang dalawa. He keep caressing her head occasionally leaving to steer the wheel and came back immediately before she knew it nasa condo na siya ni Calcifer, ulit. She was too tired, drained to say anything.

Calcifer lead her to sit in the sofa, putting a comforter around her shoulder. Almost wrapping herself. Its the times like this, this is when she felt that Calcifer really knew her. Everytime she felt sad she like to wrap herself like this. At sa paraan kung paano siya balutin ni Calcifer she felt like he done this before, pero impossible naman.

Maliliit lang ang mga bagay na ito pero naalala niya noon ito ang nakasanayan niya kasama ni Gillian pero mukhang kinalimutan iyon ni Gillian.

"Darling. I'm just gonna cook. Okay? Kung gusto mo magbihis, you know where my room is okay? You'll sleep here tonight." He then stand and walk toward - the kitchen, she presumed - but he abruptly stop before looking back at her. Grimacing. "I mean. Do you want to sleep here tonight darling? Kung ayaw mo ihahatid kita."

She stared at him blanky. Naguguluhan siya dahil mukhang natatakot ito. Calcifer panic face grew worse when she stayed quiet. "Darling. I'm sorry. It's just I'm worried after everything you saw I -" His word grew weaker as he speak, umupo ito ulit sa tabi niya. "I'm just worried that's why I said that without giving a thought. Forgive me."

"Forgive you for what exactly?" She ask, she's genuinely baffled as to why he's saying all of this and his reaction. He seem scared and concern. Minsan nagugulat na lang talaga siya sa pinagsa -sabi ng binata. He always read her every move, apologizing for things she thought was nothing.

"For not hearing what you want." Ani nito bago yumuko. He seem ashamed. "I didn't ask you and just said what I want. You have a choice if you want to stay here or not."
