September 15 1942
"Honey have you seen my teapot anywhere? I can't seem to find it."

Steve looked behind him at Desume as she looked through cabinets to find it."Sweet heart it's right on the counter beside the parsley pot."

Looking in the spot Desume felt her own blindness frustrate her.

"Dont you think its time for a new prescription?"She looked back at Steve with a sigh."Maybe I'll see if I can get in with a doctor soon."

She says before starting the tea. "Speaking of Doctors im gonna try to get recruited again."

She stilled feeling her anxiety ball in her chest. She didn't want him to get accepted. She knew it was terrible but Bucky still hasn't come back.

She was afraid he wouldn't come back, and it has been about 9 months.

Even with the few letters she had sent she just couldn't help but feel like it wasn't the best idea for Steve to go.

Turning in the burner she walked over to the oven to check the lasagna. "I'm happy for you Honey." She said making sure he didn't see her face.

"I'm hoping sense my health is better they'll let me in I've gained a bit more weight."

Desume smiled knowing her herbs have worked wonders on him, but not enough for him to go to war.

"I'm glad I could help you." She said solemly before taking out the thick pasta.

Steve looked back."Do you feel uncomfortable with me going to war?" She sighed."No im just a bit worried is all."

She says before cutting him a nice big slice. Just as she went to fix hers there was a knock on the door.

She looked over confused."Who could it be at this hour?" Steve smiled."I don't know, but im in the middle of something could you open it."

Desume gave a hum as she slipped off her oven mits.

"Okay Honey bun." She said before walking towards the door. Reaching for the door knob she checked how she looked in the mirror.

Then she opened it. When she saw him she felt her world stop.

She closed the door and walked to her room slamming the door. Steve sighed and got up not thinking she would act that way.

Walking over her opened the door."Rough day?" Bucky asked?

Steve shook his head."It's probably just what we just talked about I should have saved it for tomorrow."

The man just gave Steve a slap at the back of his head before closing the door. Steve rubbed his neck.

"What did I say?" Steve whined. Bucky just looked at him "probably something stupid."

Steve groaned and looked at him."I just said I was gonna try the war exam again." Bucky sighed."You really do have bad timing."

Looking over at the door Bucky sat his hat on the hat rack and went off to her room she shared with Steve.

"I'm coming in." He says opening the door before closing it behind him as he walked in.
