Chapter 43 "Who Was That?"

They all walked in a group over to Y/n's house and talked during the whole walk over there.
Their conversation mostly consisted of some funny things that happened and the movies they had watched that morning.

"I don't know about you two but that last movie was both sad and boring."
Y/n said

"I thought it was quite interesting."

"Nick you were the second one to fall asleep while it was playing."
Clay said as he looked at Nick.

"I didn't say it was interesting enough to not put me to sleep."

"Well, I remember a certain someone falling asleep as soon as it started to not make sense and that was like 15 minutes into it."
Clay said as he turned to face Y/n.

"Whaaaat? Nahhh never."
Y/n said as she rolled her eyes and looked away.

"Mhm. Suuuure."
Clay said as he also rolled his eyes.

"Guys, we are here I think."

"And where is here?"
Clay asked sarcastically.

"My house."
Y/n replied as she went up to the door and rang the bell.

"Isn't this where you live?
Why would you ring the bell?
Do you not have a house key?"

"I have a house key.
I just don't want to scare the living hell out of my mother by randomly opening the door and letting in two guys she has never seen before."

"Good point."
Clay said.

*Door Opens*

"Y/n there you are!
Oh? And you brought friends over aswell?"

"Yes mother. I wanted to introduce you to Clay and Nick. They are my new friends."

"Lovely to meet you two. I'm Y/n, mother, Celestia."

"Nice to meet you miss Celestia."
Clay said as he shook her hand.

"Please, call me Celestia."

"Hello Celestia. I am Nick."
Nick said as he also shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you Nick."

"Ooo~
This will be fun~"
A voice whispered in the background.

"Mum who was that?"
Y/n said as she tried to keep her calm since a voice appeared out of nowhere.

"It's no one dear, no need to worry."

"Mum, that was the voice of a person.
Who was that?"

*Whispering*
"I didn't hear anyone.
Did you?"

*Whispering Back*
"I heard the voice of a female."
Clay replied to Nick.

"Look Y/n, there is no one here.
So don't worry about it ok?"

"I am going to worry because I know what I heard. The voice was feminine and it came from inside the house."

"Y/n, for the last time, there is no one here."

"What are you trying to keep from me mother?
Why is someone in the house and why are you keeping them from me?"

"Y/n it's too hard to explain and I would prefer not to. Now go to your room."

"Mother, I am not going to my room until you explain yourself."

*Whispers*
"This is getting heated."

*Whispers*
"Very heated."

"There is no one in the house but us Y/n."

"You say that with a lack of confidence."

"I do not because it is true what I'm saying."

"Busssted!"
The voice whispered again.

And this time, everyone heard it.

"Mother explain who that was now.
No more excuses."

"Fine. Let's take a seat on the sofa for this one. It's a long story."
Y/n's mother said as they all walked into the house and sat down.

"It begins with the person in this house.
Celeste, you can show yourself now."
As soon as Y/n's mother said that, an eerie whoosh was heard and the curtains moved.

There was a ghastly wail and the lights flickered. The air got cold and they could feel as if someone was breathing down their neck.

"Hellooo"
The voice said.

Clay jumped in shock and Nick almost screamed. Even Y/n was scared.
Infact, she was frozen in terror.

"Y/n, dear?
Are you ok?"

Y/n did not respond.

The ghostly wail stopped and a see through figure appeared infront of everyone who were sitting in a circle.

"Celeste, I think you scared my daughter and her friends."

"Not my fault they are scaredy cats."

"It is actually, you had the idea to scare them and scared the wits off them."

"Meh.
They should be able to deal with it."

"So like I was saying Y/n, this is Celeste.
She is what we call a counterpart."

"I know about them mum."
Y/n said as she gained confidence and was no longer frozen in terror.

"You...do?"
Celestia said shocked.

"Yes and I have proof.
Midnight, I need you over here."

As soon as Y/n called Midnight over, a portal whooshed open and Midnight exited the portal with an evil smile and bidding the others goodbye.

"I saw this lady earlier when she left a note. You know her Y/n?"

"Know her? I put up with her.
She is my counterpart."
