Shame

Atsushis pov :
He gets in and there are only three people there .
Ranpo , Naomi and the president.
He felt out of place .
He sits down and starts his work .
A few hours later everyone else returns .
"Atsushi I'm so sorry we had to leave you this morning we had to go "
Dazai comes in gagging Atsushi from behind.
"It's fine Dazai really I understand "
Dazai pats his back.
He does his work not thinking about anything that's going on around him.
"Hey Atsushi the president wants to talk to you in his office"
"Ok thanks Naomi"
He gets up a goes to his office .
He goes in and sits down .
"You wanted to see me sir "
"Yes I wanted to know how you've been getting on this week ?"
"Oh I'm fine"
"That's good to hear . But Atsushi you were seen smoking yesterday afternoon is that correct ?"
"Yes "
"Ok and you didn't think it was appropriate to say anything to us ? We are helping you after all so does our help not matter ?"
"Of course it does but I don't see a problem with it sir "
"It is damaging you health and if your out back in the field your be a huffing puffing mess Atsushi . We care about your health  .
It's for the best ."
That last sentence .
Hit him like a bus.
The headmaster at the orphanage raiding his brain.
"It's my health and if I want to ruin it then what's the matter it would be my fault.
Just like everything else so if we are done I'm leaving "
"Atsushi if you continue I will never return you to the field do you understand that ?"
Atsushi closes the door and goes back to his desk .
What he didn't know was that Ranpo was listening in.
"What's wrong Atsushi did he upset you ?"
Dazai says hugging him.
"No it was fine he just scares me a little "
"Lier "
Ranpo sits at his desk eating a packet of sweets .
"You didn't seem so scared when you started yelling at him . He seemed more scared of you "
"Ok so we had a slight disagreement big deal "
"You just said no to ever going to the field just because you don't want to stop ruining your body-"
"Oh my god did no one teach you it's rude to ease drop ?"
Atsushi starts screaming as he stands up .
"Did no one teach you it's rude to disrespect your elders ?"
"No  they didn't "
"Shame , but at least I don't need everyone to be nice to me just because I can't control myself "
Atsushis eyes turned yellow .
"Well at least I don't need everyone's validation that I have an amazing ability. Because unlike you I have one that actually exists"
Ranpo stands there staring at Atsushi .
"Shame"
Atsushi pick's up some paper from his desk and walks out .
Everyone is silent trying to process what just happened .
Did they really just fight and Atsushi won.
