The next day Jacob and Hermione made their way to Potions with Professor Slughorn and entered the class room.
"Attention to detail in preparation is the prerequisite of all planning" Slughorn said.
Just then Harry and Ron had entered the classroom.
"Ah, Harry my boy I was beginning to worry" Slughorn said "You brought someone with us I see"
"Ron Weasley sir" Ron said introducing himself while Lavender look at him with love strucked eyes. "But I'm dead awful at potions. A menace actually so..."
Ron then tried to leave but Harry stopped him.
"Nonsense, we'll sort you out" Slughorn said "Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine. Gets your books out"
"Sorry sir, but haven't actually got my book yet nor has Ron" Harry said.
"Not to worry get what you want from the cupboard" Slughorn said "Now as I was saying, I was prepared some concoctions this morning. Any ideas what these might be?"
Of course to no one's surprise Hermione was the first to raise her hand.
"Yes Miss?" Slughorn asked.
"Granger sir" Hermione said as she walked up to the potions. "The first one is Veritaserum. It's a truth telling potion. The second would be Polyjuice Potion it's terribly trick to make. And this is Amortentia..... the most powerful love potion in the world. It's rumored to smell different to each person according to what attracts them. For example I smell......chocolate scented cologne, new parchment, butter beer and..... strawberry ice cream"

Hermione took a moment and looked back at Jacob who smiled and winked at her as she blushed. It amazed her that after all this time he still made her blush.
Thanks to Jacob's enhanced sense of smell he was able to smell the love potion from where he was standing. He could smell, cinnamon scented perfume, new books and french vanilla coffee which he knew was Hermione favorite morning beverage.
Hermione made her way back to Jacob's side as he whispered in her ear.
"I love you" He said.
"I love you too" She whispered back.
"Now, Amortentia doesn't create actually love, that would be impossible" Slughorn said "But it does create powerful infatuation or obsession and for that reason it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room"
All the other girls in the room expect Hermione and Linda stepped closer to the potion. On of them was Romilda. She then started getting an idea in her head until Slughorn placed the lid on the cauldron.
"Sir, you haven't told us what's in that one" Linda said pointing to the small veil.
"Ah yes, what you see before you ladies and gentlemen is curious little potion known a Felix Felicis" Slughorn said showing the veil to the class "But it is more commonly referred to as-"
