A few days after the Gryffindor's celebration, Linda was still heartbroken over the fact that Ron had kissed Lavender. She did her best to avoid him as much as possible. Jacob and Hermione did their best to comfort her. Unfortunately Hermione seemed a bit distracted. Every time she saw Romilda she got the feeling she was planning to take Jacob away from her. ______________________________________
Later that night Hermione, Jacob and Harry all met Linda in the Library as she returned some book and told her that Ron consider himself a free agent.
"He's at perfect liberty to kiss who ever he likes" She said as she angrily shoved on of her book back on the shelf "I really couldn't care less"
"No offense Linda, but it kind of sounds like you do" Jacob said.
"Was I under the impression he and I would be attending Slughorn's Christmas Party together? Yes......" Linda said "Now given the circumstances I've had to make other arrangements"
"Have you?" Harry asked.
"Yes, why?" Linda asked.
"Well, I just thought we could go as friends?" Harry suggested.
"Ugh, why didn't I think of that?" Linda groaned.
"Maybe because you're still thinking about Ron?" Hermione suggested.
"Who are you going with?" Harry asked.
"It's a surprise" Linda said.
"Why do I get the feeling it's one of those bad surprises?" Jacob whispered to Hermione as she nodded.
"Anyway, it's you we've got to worry about Harry" Linda said. "You can't just take anyone"
"What do you mean?" Harry asked
"Rumor has it Romilda Vane is trying slip you a love potion" Linda said.

"She's trying to do the same with Jacob" Hermione said.
"Really?" Harry asked as he looked over at Romilda who was sitting behind them. Linda then snapped her fingers and snapped him out of it.
"Hey! She's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One and Jacob is the descendant of Merlin" Linda said.
"But I am the Chosen One" Harry said as Linda and Hermione smacked him on the head while Jacob smacked him upside the head.
"Idiot" Jacob said rolling his eyes.
"Ok, sorry, um, kidding" Harry said "I'll ask someone I like. Someone cool" ______________________________________
Later in their dorm Jacob and Hermione were getting ready for Slughorn's Christmas Party. Jacob was wear a nice black tuxedo.
