I'm on tenterhooks waiting for the "Myths and Legends" class to start. This class is the main reason I chose to study here.

Sarah stands next to me as we wait outside the auditorium, amused by how restless I am.

Sarah: "You're freaking out!"

Nora: "I can't help it. I'm so excited! I have high hopes for this class!"

Sarah: "Me too. I'm curious to find out what this Dr Jones has to say..."

Nora: "What? You don't know his work? He's very well known! And his papers are always fascinating!"

Sarah: "Wow! Is he, like, your guru or something?"

I know she's teasing me, so I ignore her remark. I decide now's as good a time as any to jump right in.

Nora: "I had a little chat with Peter..."

Sarah: "You harassed him you mean."

Nora: "No, that's not true. Besides, he said he'd make an effort with you."

Sarah scowls as soon as I mention Peter's name.

Sarah: "Oh, great! I didn't ask you to do that!"

Nora: "But it'll be so much simpler!"

She screws up her nose.

Sarah: "For me or for you?"

It's true I'd like them to get along. I'd feel a little easier about things. So, it is about me. I guess.

Nora: "Look, we've been studying together and I told him I didn't want to exclude you."

She softens up a little.

Sarah: "It's nice of you, but it's not your job to fix things between us."

Nora: "Oh, come on... If Peter agrees to make an effort, you can try too. Can't you?"

Sarah: "Okay, you win! I'll be nicer."

I give her a knowing glance. Let's hope she's telling the truth. But for now, I need to focus on this class.

Nora: "I wonder what we'll learn first..."

Sarah: "Who cares? It all depends on the professor! And apparently... this guy is amazing...“

She lets out a little giggle.

Nora: "Very funny!"

Sarah: "I promise I won't make fun of you if he's boring as hell!"

I lean against the wall.

Nora: "Have you ever seen this Dr Jones?"

Sarah: "Not yet. I don't even know if he's young or old... Didn't you see a pic on him online?"

I shake my head. Other students are gathering outside the room now. We're all waiting for the famous professor.

Nora: "You know everyone here! I bet you've heard something about him!"

Sarah: "Well, I know he's new to Mystery Spell..."

Several people close in on Sarah. So... I'm not the only one who's curious! Everyone wants the scoop on this guy!
