⭐️“We’re so focused on the future that we don’t realize that today was what we prayed for years ago. Enjoy your today.”⭐️
___I whistle to myself softly as I go to wake Lorie. I open the curtains and take a moment to let the sun warm my skin.
I'm in a good mood this morning!
With a smile on my face, I turn to Lorie. She's grumpy. I can tell. But then... Why wouldn't she be?
Nora: "Good morning, Lorie!"
Lorie: "Morning."
Nora: "Let's see, what's wrong? Yesterday, it was the heat... and the day before it was the color of my clothes. What are you going to criticize today?"
Lorie: "Apart from you, nothing."
Nora: "All these niceties in the morning! It's too much!"
Lorie: "All you have to do is be a good nanny and I won't be mean to you."
My smile fades away.
I won't let the little brat spoil my day!
Lorie: "No need to glare at me like that! I'm going to take a shower."
I'm speechless.
She's a fine one to talk about glaring!
I prepare her clothes for school, make her bed and tidy up her room while she freshens up.
When she comes out of the shower, wrapped up in her towel, I go to the bathroom while she gets dressed and clear everything away.
I ask her to sit on a chair so I can untangle her long locks. After several weeks of struggling, we've finally set up some kind of a routine.
Seeing to her hair is one of the calmest moments of the day. I actually enjoy it.
I hear the door creak and raise my head in surprise. Drogo gives me a naughty wink and a wave.
Drogo: "Everything okay in here?"
Lorie: "Drogo!"
The little one gets up before I'm done with her and throws herself in her brother's arms.
He kisses her on the top of the head and laughs.
Drogo: "You're full of energy this morning!"
He sits his sister back down on the chair and lays a sneaky kiss on my lips. It's soft... like the touch of a butterfly's wings.
Drogo: "Are you having breakfast this morning?"
Nora: "I'm not sure if I'll have time."
Drogo: "Come on... Everyone's downstairs waiting for you."
Nora: "Okay... I'll hurry then."
He steps backwards with a sexy smile on his lips, before rushing out into the hallway. I sigh, not knowing that Lorie is watching me with her beady little hawk eyes.
Lorie: "You're such an idiot!"
Nora: "Lorie..."
Lorie: "You are though. I saw you looking at Drogo..."
Nora: "So?"
She just laughs at me. She laughs with such scorn. God, she's really riling me up!
Lorie: "Drogo doesn't like anyone except his brothers and me. You're nothing to him."
