“If something feels off, it probably is. Your gut doesn’t lie.”⭐️

To my great relief Lorie runs straight to her room as soon as we get back to the manor.

I leave her with her dolls and go in search of Drogo. He's not in his room.

I try to hide my disappointment. I was sure I'd find him here.

This thing with Mia Cooper is eating me up inside. I'm tired of all these rumors and I don't know who to believe anymore.

I need to get the information from the source.

Well... If I can find him that is!

As I walk down the hallway, I hear music...

I feel a slight smile appear at the corner of my mouth. Only Peter's music touches me quite like this.

I make my way to his room and stop in the doorway.

He hasn't noticed me yet. He's so absorbed in his piece that everything around must be a blur.

I tiptoe over and sit down next to him. His lips curl into a faint smile. I think he felt my presence from when I first heard him.

I listen intently to every last note. And when he stops playing, it's as if time also comes to a halt.

For a short moment I remain silent, but then I just can't help myself...

Nora: "Wow!"

Peter: "Don't you have anything more constructive to be doing with your time?"

Nora: "Sorry... That was just astounding! Wow and double wow!"

Peter: "If you say so!"

He's probably the only one who thinks his music is worthless.

Every time I hear it, it's as if I'm transported to another world.

Nora: "I love to hear you play so much..."

Peter: "You're just saying that to be nice. I'm starting to know you, Nora."

Nora: "That's not true. It's sublime. And I'm sure I'm not the first person who's ever told you that!"

He sweeps my compliments aside with a flick of his hand as if it doesn't matter to him at all.

But I know it does. Peter tortures himself with his music. He's convinced it has no soul. But it isn't true.

In fact, I believe there's more life and magic in his compositions than in anything I've ever heard.

Peter: "I'd rather not talk about it."

Nora: ‎"‬‎I get that and I still think that you're incredibly talented."

Peter: "How was the shopping spree?"

I'm tempted to ignore his abrupt change of subject but I also feel the need to complain about Lorie.

Nora: "Don't even get me started! She's a real pain in the ass! I really hope it was just this one time because there's no way I'm going shopping with her on a regular basis. Not a chance."

Peter gives me a look... and I immediately understand that what I just said was wishful thinking.

Nora: "Oh no! You're not serious?"

Peter: "On average, Lorie wants new clothes twice a month. She's a real doll."

Nora: "Do you realize she's messed with me all afternoon?"

Peter: "It won't be the last time you have to take her to town."

Nora: "I have a feeling this could get ugly real fast."
