⭐“Repeat after me: I am allowed to do what’s best for me, even if it upsets people.”⭐
__When I wake, my head feels like it's caught in a vice. I'm so slow at getting ready and I'm really late for school!
I rush to the dining room and grab a piece of fruit before running out of the house.
I run to catch the bus... just in time to see it driving off into the distance.
What a great start to the day!
Instead of sitting and waiting for twenty minutes, I decide to walk to campus.
When I get there, I rush to class as quickly as possible, but still arrive late.
I try to sneak over to the seat next to Sarah without being noticed. Fail! The professor glances at me disapprovingly.
Shit!
Sarah: "What happened to you? I waited for you this morning."
Nora: "I know! Sorry! I overslept."
Sarah: “Did you get wild last night?“
My heart races when I think back to last night with Drogo. A slow smile lights up my face. Why is this memory of him making me so happy?
Maybe because I had a great time?
Sarah's still waiting for an answer. I'm not going to tell her that I was talking to Drogo in my room until way past midnight... on my bed...
Nora: "I was up reading half the night."
Sarah: "It must have been a pretty exciting book judging by the look of you."
You have no idea!
The teacher glares at us. We wait for the end of class to pick up from where we left off. There's no need to attract more attention to ourselves.
Once class is over, we head outside to get some fresh air.
Sarah: "At least you missed English Literature this morning! Now there's a way to have your day ruined!"
Nora: "I should have called you when I knew I was going to be late."
Sarah: "No worries! I can manage on my own for a few hours..."
She gives me a knowing wink. I guess Sarah knows enough people. She doesn't need me.
Sarah: "I ran into Loan earlier and he told me all about the party. He wanted to know if we were going."
Nora: "Great... You promised we wouldn't have to run into him."
Sarah: "And we still don't! There'll be so many people there. We'll not even see him!"
Nora: "Did you tell him we'd be there?"
Sarah: "Sure! You told me it was ok. What's the problem?"
Nora: "It's not like I'm looking forward to seeing the guy..."
After the last class of the morning, we make our way to the cafeteria. I'm starving!
As I start tucking into my meal, I see Samantha walking toward our table. She looks ready for a fight.
All my muscles instinctively tense up. Something tells me that she isn't come over to say something pleasant.
Samantha: "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
