When I opened my eyes, I was blinded by a bright light that hung over head. When I started to get feeling back, all of the pain from the battle came back at once. Once my eyes were able to adjust, I looked around. The room I was in was made of metal. On the walls hung Fire Nation banner's. I gaped as I frantically looked around. I turned my body too quick and a pain shot through my stomach. I looked at myself and saw that I had my stomach wrapped. I tried to move my right arm but, I could barely lift it. A cotton cloth was wrapped across my chest and around my shoulder, covering what felt like another bandage underneath.

My forearm was wrapped up as well. Dry blood lightly stained the wrap. I grunted as I tried to move. Then someone took my hand. It was Aang. He smiled at me. He got off the chair he was on and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Hey. How are you feeling," he asked as he looked at my hands. I looked at my hands as well saw how beat up they looked. My knuckles had newly formed scars and dry blood lightly covered them.

"I-I am f-fine," I replied. Aang looked at me and lifted an eyebrow. I furrowed my eyebrows as I put a hand on my throat. Am I stuttering? "I am f-fine. I-I can't r-really m-m-move my right a-arm." I looked at Aang with wide eyes. "What d-did they do t-to me," I asked getting emotional.

"Do you remember the fight at all," Aang asked as he scooted closer to me. He put a gentle hand on my cheek as he looked into my eyes.

"Yes. I re-remember getting th-thrown into the prison. I met Zuko th-there. Then you c-came and got us out. Then Azula showed up, t-turned Zuko against h-his uncle, and then the fight broke o-out. I re-, I re-remember getting electrocuted b-by Z-Zuko and Azula at o-once. I blacked o-out after that," I replied as I felt a tear slip down my face. I dropped my gaze, unable to look Aang in the eye.

"Well after they electrocuted you, I went into the Avatar State. Things got a little foggy for me, but I remember burying a lot of those soldiers under rock. When I snapped out of it, Iroh held them off long enough for Katara and I to get you out of there," Aang explained. He made me look at him as he said, "I wasn't going to let them hurt you anymore." He gave me a soft half smile. I tried to smile back but the more I tried to smile, the worse I started to feel. My chest began to become heavy and I could feel my eyes start to fill with more tears.

I just watched as Aang's expression dropped. I could see the pity in his eyes. I looked away from him and squeezed my eyes shut, trying to prevent tears from falling. The next thing I knew, I was being pulled forward into Aang's arms. At that point, I couldn't hold it in anymore. I cried into his chest. I tucked my injured arm in and rested my right hand on his chest. That was when I felt something under his shirt. I sat up and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. I lifted his shirt and saw his torso was wrapped. Aang pulled his shirt back down and I looked at him with wide eyes.

"What h-happened to y-you," I asked in shock.

"It's okay. Don't worry about it," Aang tried to reassure me. I shook my head and took his hand.

"No, Aang. W-what happened," I pressed. He looked away from me and shook his head.

"I was electrocuted while in the Avatar State. It should've killed me, but it only made me stronger somehow. I don't really know how to explain it." I gasped.

"This is all my fault. If I hadn't gotten taken, none of this would have happened," I said as I looked away from Aang. "I'm sorry Aang. I am so sorry."

"Don't be Y/n. I'm the one who should be sorry. I shouldn't have let them hurt you like that," he said as he put his hand over mine. I looked back at him and he smiled lightly again. "But at least you are healing quickly," he said. I lifted an eyebrow.

"What do you mean," I asked. Then my eyes widened. I put a hand over my throat and spoke again. "Healing quickly. Air, water, earth fire." I smiled at Aang and chuckled as a single tear fell down my cheek.

"You were always a quick healer Y/n."

"I'm just glad that it wasn't going to be permanent." I leaned forward and hugged Aang. "Thank you Aang. For everything," I whispered in his ear.

"I won't let them hurt you again, I promise."
