The sky was black with crystals twinkling in the darkness. The moon was a perfect crescent and the night was still. You and team Avatar were asleep. You slept next to your brother Zuko for warmth. You weren't a bender but you learned the fighting techniques and became a non bending prodigy. You could feel the warmth from your brother on your back as you slept.

While you slept, you had a dream of your family; of your mother. Your mother took a particular favor to you and Zuko. Azula however, your mother knew she would follow in your father's wicked ways. In the midst of your dreaming, you heard a loud noise and jumped awake. You sat up quickly, your hair falling over your face. You looked around to see where the noise was from. Everything around you was silent other than the sound of the water near by. You layed back down and stared up at the sky. As your eyelids became heavier, the noise sounded again. You sat up quickly and knew that the sound came from in front of you.

You scanned the team and noticed that Sokka was tossing and turning. You lifted an eyebrow as he grunted in his sleep. He almost sounded like he was in distress. You quietly got up and tip toed your way over to him. When you got closer to him, you noticed the glimmer of water on his face. Beads of sweat were falling down his face. His eyes were squinted shut and it was like he was making faces. You got down on your knees and sat next to him. Then he started mumbling.

"N-no! Look out," Sokka cried. You put a hand on his arm to wake him up.

"Sokka," you spoke softly as you gently shook him. His eyelids squeezed tighter together. "Sokka wake up!" You put a hand on the side of his face and his eyes shot open. He sat up quickly causing you to gasp in shock and fall back.

"Ugh," he growled. He looked at you and started to relax. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't hurt you did I," he asked. He gave you his hand and pulled your up right. You shook your head.

"No but you kinda scared me a little," you admitted. He gave you a guilty look.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled. You reached for him and put a gentle hand on his arm.

"Don't be. What were you dreaming about," you asked calmly. Sokka rubbed his eyes and fell back.

"It was more like a nightmare. It was about you," he replied with his arm over his eyes. Your eyes widened.

"Well what happened," you asked with shock.

"You and I were fighting together and someone took you by suprise and you got very hurt," he explained. You lifted an eyebrow. "I screamed for you and tried to run for you but I couldn't move. That was when I woke up." You layed down next to him and rested your head on your arm.

"Why would you have a dream like that? What do you think caused it?" Sokka lifted his arm from his eyes and glanced at the moon. He sighed before answering.

"I don't know. Maybe because I've been emotionally confused around you," he admitted. You opened your mouth but nothing came out.

"Did I do something wrong to make you confused," you asked finally. Sokka looked at you and turned onto his side and propped himself up on his arm.

"Yes. You always look at me with those beautiful eyes of your and give me that gorgeous smile. And then you hug me and when you do I feel warm and tingly inside. And I can't ever get you outta my head," Sokka explained. Your face turned rosy. You sit up and looked at him.

"Sokka if my presence around you is bothersome..." Sokka cut you off.

"No, no. Y/n what I'm trying to say is I like you. Like I really like you." You smiled at him. "I love having you around. You joining us was the best thing that has ever happened to this team. And you becoming my best friend was the best thing that ever happened to me." You scooted closer to him and took his hand.

"You  know...that would have been easier to say then beating around the bush," you joked. He chuckled. "Besides. You don't need to be afraid of losing me. I'm always going to be here." You leaned forward and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. When you pulled away, his face was a bright color. You giggled slightly. "Get some rest. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." You tried to get up but Sokka pulled you closer and kissed you softly on your lips. When you pulled away, you smiled at him. "Goodnight Sokka," you said.

Then you got up and went back to your place next to your brother. After a short while, you fell asleep with a smile on your face.
