Haru ~ Growing Family

        You were working in the gardens outside of your house when a little boy dressed in Earth Kingdom colors waddled up to you. You looked at him and he had a bright smile on his face. You could tell that he was excited.

"Mama, Mama," he called. You smiled at him as you stood. You meet him at the edge of the garden and scooped him up in your arms.

"What is it my love," you asked after you kissed his cheek. You set the boy on your hip and fixed his tousled hair before setting him back down.

"You are never going to guess what I just did," he exclaimed with excitement. You giggled lightly as you took his hand and went back into the garden.

"What did you do," you asked as you got down on your knees and continued to tend to the ripe vegetables.

"I moved two rocks the size of my fist! It was amazing Mama, you should have seen it," he said as he jumped up and down. He got down on his knees and started to help you with the garden, helping you pick the ripe vegetables and put in the basket.

"That is great sweetheart! You are learning very quickly," you said as the little boy took the tools from you. You watched as your boy took over your chore. You smiled warmly at him as you tried to help. "Kai you don't have to do all of this," you said as you tried to take back your tools. He shook his head and put out his hand.

"No, Mama! I can do the picking. All you need to do is hold the basket." He put his hand on your stomach and looked up at you. "It's my job to help you out until my little sister or little brother comes, okay? Did you eat yet Mama? I want to make sure you are eating," he said as he rubbed your belly with his small hand. You knelt down the best you could and looked him in the eyes.

"How did I manage to have such an extraordinary child," you asked softly and he gave you a big smile. "Thank you. Come on, let go and get these cleaned for dinner," you said as you stood. You picked up the basket, took little Kai by the hand and started walking back to the house. As you and Kai got closer to the house, you heard a conversation inside. Kai got excited.

"Grandpa Tyro," he squeaked. As you and your little boy rounded the corner, you saw your husband, Haru, with your father-in-law. Tyro turned around as he heard his name. He smiled as he walked to you and your son.

"Y/n! As beautiful as always," Tyro said as he folded you in his arms gently.

"It is great to see you again Tyro," you said as Tyro took your son into his arms.

"Little Kai! How are you doing young man? You helping your mother out," he asked Kai after kissing your cheek. You giggled slightly to yourself as Tyro took Kai outside. You walked over to Haru and stood next to him, setting down your basket. He turned to you and smiled as he put his arm around you.

"How was your trip," you asked after Haru gently kissed your lips. He chuckled as he popped a berry in his mouth. You opened your mouth and he fed you one as he answered.

"The trip was great! We managed to make a few kills," he replied as he gave you another berry.

"That's wonderful. That means we will be eating well tonight," you said with a smile. Haru turned to you and folded you into his arms.

"Mmm. Speaking of which, have you eaten today," Haru asked as he pulled away and put his hand over your stomach. You giggled as you put your hand over his.

"Yes I have. Don't worry, Kai has been making sure I've been eating," you said as you looked down at your baby bump. Haru chuckled and nodded his head.

"Good. I think he is excited to be a big brother, don't you think?" You and Haru looked outside and watched Kai run around with Tyro. You and Haru laughed lightly.

"I think he is excited. He even helped me in the garden this morning after you and your father left and when I went back out there a little bit ago," you replied as you walked around the counter with the basket Haru brought home. As you started to put the food away, you felt something move in your stomach. You gasped and dropped what was in your hands. You looked down and held your stomach. Haru turned his head quickly and rushed to your side.

"What's wrong?" You smiled as you put a hand on his cheek.

"It's the baby," you said with excitement. Haru still had a concerned look on his face. You took his hand and placed it over your stomach. The baby moved under Haru's hand and his concerned look faded as it turned to joy. "The baby is moving," you said finally after a moment of silence. Haru got down on his knees and kissed your belly.

"I can feel them. I can tell that they are going to be a powerful bender," Haru said as he stood again.

"Just like their father," you said as Haru set his forehead to yours. He chuckled.

"You mean just like their mother," he said. You giggled as Haru pulled you closer.

"Yeah you're right," you replied teasingly as you pushed yourself onto your toes and kissed him. Haru chuckled as he kissed you back. As you both pulled away, you hugged Haru and looked out at the setting sun.

"I love you so much Y/n," Haru whispered against your hair. You smiled.

"I love you too Haru."
