Haru ~ Protective Brother

     You were walking through the market in your village with a basket full of food for your family. The moon was high and the stars were twinkling in the velvet sky. You walked past a booth of men that were drinking ale. You could smell the scent of the ale off of them and you knew they were very intoxicated. They catcalled you several times and you just ignored them, hoping they would go away. But they didn't.

     "Hey cutie. Why don't you come over here and hang with us," one of the men said. You shook your head and sped up.

     "No thanks." Then one of them came from behind the booth and started to follow you. You started to get nervous. In an Earth Village, you were one of many that couldn't Earthbend. You could fight but not an intoxicated Soldier. 

     "Come on baby, just one drink? I can show you a good time," he said. Your stomach dropped and you felt sick. That man was sickening. Drunk Earth soldiers were disgusting and potentially the most dangerous. You didn't want to upset him but you weren't going to take that.

     "Look, sir. I'm just trying to get home. So please let me be on my way," you said before you continued on your way. Then you felt a pair of thick arms wrap around your waist. You were smaller than he was and he was too big to fight off. You dropped the basket and started struggling in his grip. You got a sudden lump in your throat because you could tell what his intentions were. "Put me down," you shouted while struggling. 

     "No! We're going to have fun tonight," he said with a grin. You screamed for your brother and almost started to cry. Then suddenly, the man holding you let go and hit the ground hard. You fell to your hands and knees as tears fell down your face. 

     "Y/n! Y/n," you heard someone shout. Then someone slid in front of you and you didn't lookup. "Hey look at me! You are okay," they said. They put a hand on your face and you looked up. It was Haru, your older brother. You bit your bottom lip and fell into his arms. 

     "Haru I was so scared," you cried. He sat on his heels as he held you close. 

     "I know, I know. I shouldn't have let you go alone this late at night," he said as he stroked your hair. 

     "What did you do to the drunkard," you asked. He nodded his head towards you and you turned around. The drunkard was knocked unconscious and buried in the ground with only his head, arm, and legs sticking out. You chuckled lightly and Haru smiled. 

     "It's good to see you smile," he said. You looked at your brother and smiled. 

     "Thank you, Haru."

     "I promised father that nothing would happen to you and I'm going to keep that promise." Haru kissed the top of your head and you smiled at him.

     "I love you Haru," you said as you rest your head on his chest.

     "I love you too sis. Let's go home."
