You and Team Avatar were resting in the woods. Your brother had only one element left to master so it was a training day for everyone. You, Aang's sister, paired up with your boyfriend Haru and practiced. You got in your stance and Haru got into his.
"You ready," he asked with a grin on his face. You smiled at him.
"The real question is are you," you replied. He smiled before making the first move. He pulled a rock up and launched it at you. You ran towards it and jumped over the rock; landing the way your brother would. You lifted your head and smirked as hair fell towards your face. Then you got up and ran towards Haru. He threw another boulder and you spun to your left and dodged it. He then started to rapid fire rocks at you.
You planted one foot forward and the other back as you lifted your hands towards all of the rocks. You trapped them in a sphere. Then you flipped and threw them at Haru as you landed. He attempted to stop the sphere but he couldn't control the air around the rocks. Not being able to react in time, it hit him in the stomach and he flew back a little bit. When he caught his breath, he pulled a rock from under you causing you to fall onto your back.
Then you lifted your feet up and shot the rock out of his grasp. You sent it flying up and you did a kip-up. Haru caught it and shattered it to dust before it could land on you. You smiled at him and he winked. You got up and took a fighting stance again. Then you let Haru start a rapid fire once again. Instead of countering his attacks, you just bobbed and weaved between the flying stones. You started to dodge every rock, shard, pebble he threw your way. You learned this technique from your father figure, Monk Gyatso, as a way to let your mind and body move with the wind.
But Haru anticipated your movement and he sent one rock at you. You moved to avoid it just barely, but it cut the top of your shoulder. You winced and grabbed your shoulder as the dirt stung the open wound. Haru stopped his attack and raced to you.
"Y/n! I'm so sorry! Are you okay," he asked as he put his arm around you. You smiled at him as he pulled you to him and chuckled.
"Haru I'm fine. Calm down love," you said in a reassuring tone.
"But I," he started but you put a finger to his lips.
"It's just a cut. My life isn't going to end okay. I promise. Katara can heal this up to a scar. I'll be fine," you said as you put a hand to his cheek. His face dropped slightly as he nodded. He turned his head into your hand and kissed your palm.
"Okay," he said softly. "I just feel bad," he said. You turned your body to him, pushed yourself to your toes, and kissed him softly.
"Please don't feel bad. I still love you. Besides, you now know how to better read your opponents movement," you said with a smile. He smiled lightly and nodded his head.
"Yeah I guess that's a good thing," he said.
"And it is. Because if you can read an Airbender, you can read any element," you said. You watched as his gaze went to your shoulder.
"Can I see," he asked. You nodded and moved your hand. Your cut wasn't as bad as it seemed. It was where your arm met the shoulder. The cut was bleeding slightly, which was a good thing because it meant he didn't cut you too deep. He leaned over and kissed the skin just above the cut. "I'm sorry," he mummbled against your skin. You smiled at him.
"For an Earthbender, you are quite a softy," you teased. He stood straight again and kissed your lips before speaking.
"That's because I just love you too much," he said then pressed his forehead to yours. He smirked at you.
"Come on, let's head back to the others. After this, I don't think you're willing to keep sparring with me," you said. He chuckled.
"Fair enough." So you and Haru walked back to camp where Appa was resting and Haru wouldn't let go of you out of guilt. He showered you with kisses and hugs and all you did was just laugh and accept every kiss and every hug.
