After the meeting, I head to Arwen's room. I stand in front of her door and knock. For once, she's there.
"Yes?" Arwen asks.
"It's me, I have something to tell you."
I feel bad that I'm going to leave Arwen, I don't want to leave her, I have no idea what I was thinking.
Arwen opens the door. "What is it, Mellon?"
I step inside, "I'm leaving Rivendell..."
"W..what?"
"I joined the fellowship...I..I'm going to Mordor."
Her eyes got watery, "well, w..when do you l..leave?" She stutters.
"Tomorrow, I believe" tears roll down my cheeks.
She hugs me and starts crying.
"I'm sorry that I'm leaving you." I say still hugging her.
"Y/n, the ring needs to be destroyed. Your skill will be of good help to the fellowship. Don't be sorry."
I hug her tighter.
"Can you find someone to cover my spot in the guard?" I ask still crying.
"I will"
"I'm gonna miss you, Arwen" I cry harder.
"I Will miss you too, y/n"
She pulls away from the hug "we need to stop crying, so who's going with you?" She asks trying to lighten the mood.
"Frodo is the ring bearer, Sam's going along with Merry and pippin, Gimli, Boromir I think is his name, Gandalf and...Legolas"
She raises an eyebrow when she hears Legolas's name.
"You should ask Aragorn who else is going..." I say not wanting to take away Aragon's news.
Her eyes widen, and her face is fearful.
"Wh..what do you mean?"
"I will go get Aragorn for you.."
She nods and sits on the edge of he bed with tears still falling from her eyes.
I knock on Aragorn's door, but he didn't answer. I go to Legolas's door and knock, he doesn't answer either.
I walk to the library and enter. Sure enough, there they are chatting. They see me and look at my wet, red face.
"Is everything okay?" Aragorn asks
Legolas looks concerned.
"Arwen wants to see you.. I think you should tell her."
He nods, and walks out.
Legolas walks up to me, "are you okay? You never answered Aragorn."
"I'm fine," I said blankly
"No you're not. Tell me what happened."
"I-I told Arwen that I'm leaving, its not that I don't want to go.. I do. It's just I'm gonna miss Arwen so much." I start crying again.
I bury my face in my hands and cry. Legolas seemed to not now how to help.
"Hey," he said "it's alright."
"But it's not! I'm a terrible friend! I should've thought about th—"
Legolas cut me off and hugged me.
"It's alright." He repeated.
I wish he hadn't hugged me, I stood there in his embrace, melting.
Soon, I stopped crying. He pulled away. He looked at me and I blushed.
"Are you better now?" He asked softly.
"Yes..thank you...."
He smiled "we should probably get packed"
"Good idea" I replied.
We both headed off to ur rooms and packed.
That night, I had trouble sleeping.
