Forever and Always. [Legolas x Reader]

Side by side with a friend

~at the black gate~

We ride up the the black gate.

"Let the lord of the Black land come forth! And let justice be done upon him!"

A few minutes later the black gates begin to open slowly.

A dark rider with a dark, armor covered horse approaches us.

"My master, Sauron the great, bids thee welcome." The dark rider gives us a toothy grin.

"Ew." I mumble under my breath.

Aragorn returns mocking look of disgust.

"Is there any in this rout with authority to treat me?"

"We do not come to treat with Sauron, faithless and accursed. Tell your master this: the armies of Mordor must disband. He is to depart these lands. Never to return." Gandalf orders.

"Old Greybeard. I have a token. I was Biden to show thee." The dark rider sneers. He pulls out the mithril shirt.

"Frodo." Pippin whispers.

Anger fills me.

The dark rider tosses it to Gandalf.

"You killed him. You killed him!" I shout in anger.

"Silence!" Gandalf orders me.

"No!" Merry says.

"Silence!"

"The halfling was dear to thee, I see. Know that he suffered greatly at the hands of his host. Who would've thought one so small could endure so much pain? And he did, Gandalf. He did."

Aragorn approaches him.

"And who is this? Lsildur's heir? It takes more to make a king than a broken blade."

Aragorn quickly unsheathes his sword and cuts of the head of the disgusting creature.

"I guess that concludes negotiations." Gimli says.

"I do not believe it. I will not." Aragorn says determinedly.

We see orcs marching towards us.

"Pull back! Pull back!"

We ride back to our own forces.

Uncountable numbers of orcs march towards us.

We're not going to make it through this.

"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me a day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the west!"

The men draw their swords.

"never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an elf."

Legolas looks down at Gimli and smiles. "What about side by side with a friend?"

"Make that two friends." I add.

Gimli smiles. "Aye. I could do that."

"It's been an honor getting to know you all and fight alongside you all." I look at Kylaney. "Thank you for being such a good friend to me."

Kylaney smiles. "It's been an honor."

Legolas looks at me. "Do not give up all hope yet, Meleth."

I know I'm supposed to be getting back at him and everything but...

"Legolas, I love you." I tell him with teary eyes.

"I love you t-"

I kiss Legolas cutting him off.

When we pull away I press my forehead against his.

"Thank you for everything."

Legolas smiles.

"When you two are done, we have a battle to fight." Gimli says.

I kiss Legolas once more.

"Let's do this."

Aragorn turns to us. "For Frodo."

Aragorn run towards the orcs with Merry an Pippin right behind him. The rest of us run after them, into battle.

We are thick in the battle when Sauron cries out in horror and pain. Sauron's army realizes and begins running away. We stare in shock as the tower falls down and the eye of Sauron disappears. A explosion comes from the dying eye, the black gate and the lands collapse and crumble, taking most of Sauron's troops with them.

"Frodo! Frodo!" Merry chants.

Mount Doom suddenly erupts into a great fiery explosion. Merry and Pippin watch in horror, realizing that Frodo and Sam are in the midst of the explosion.

~later in the houses of healing~

We get word that Frodo is awake. The hobbits run to Frodo. Me, Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn and Kylaney trail behind them.

When we walk in We see the hobbits on the bed with Frodo, hugging him and laughing.

Aragorn walks in and Frodo's smile gets bigger.

We all stand at his bedside and visit with him.

I kiss Legolas's smile.

Frodo sees my ring.

"You're engaged?"

I nod happily. "Yes!"

The hobbits look at Gimli.

"You owe us money." Frodo says with a grin.

I laugh. "You guys were betting on us?"

Pippin grins. "Maybe."

Kylaney laughs.

I shake my head. "Whatever. I expect ALL of you to come to our wedding."

"I'm coming invited or not." Kylaney says.

I laugh. "Good."
