~a couple of weeks later in Mirkwood~The journey was long, but we made it without any problems.
Legolas pulls our horse to a halt in front of the palace.
The guards look at Legolas with wide eyes.
Legolas helps me down.
"My Lord, you are back?" One of the guard says in shock.
"Yes, I have decided to come back."
Legolas motions to me. "This is captain Y/n Rivendell."
Captain- OH YEAH. I'm captain of the guard! I need to tell Lord Elrond that I will no longer be able to uphold my position.
The guards bow to us both.
"May govannen." I say with a smile.
"Tauriel is no longer banished, my Lord. She is still upholding her position as captain if you wish to see her." A guard tells Legolas.
Tauriel? Who is she?
"Who's Tauriel?" I ask.
"An old friend of mine, who I was ignorant to think that what we had was 'love'"
"I'm going to need an explanation later."
Legolas nods.
"King Thranduil is in the throne room." A guard bows before they open the doors for us.
I bow slightly "Thank you, sirs."
We walk into the palace. Legolas leads me to the throne room.
We walk into a large room. There are stairs leading up to a throne. A blonde Elf, who looks similar to Legolas sits atop it.
Legolas bows. "Hello, Ada."
"Legolas?" Thranduil asks almost in disbelief.
"Yes, Ada. I'm back."
"What brings you here?"
"I want you to meet the woman I am marrying." Legolas replies.
I bow. "Mae govannen, my Lord. I am Y/n L/n."
Just as Thranduil is about to speak a read haired Elleth appears.
"My Lord, the spiders have invaded our lands again, it is getting out of control."
Her eyes widen when she sees Legolas. "Legolas? What are you doing back here?"
"I have come back to plan my wedding." Legolas answers.
"Your wedding?" The Elleth looks at me. "Oh! She must be the lucky Elleth!"
I smile. "Yes, I am."
"Join me for dinner tonight. Lúthien will show you two to your chambers." Thranduil says.
"Thank you, My Lord." I bow.
a brunette Elleth walks up to us. "Follow me, my Lord and Lady."
She leads us to a hallway that has several doors and stops at a door.
"These are your chambers, my Lady."
"I believe you remember where your chambers are, my Lord?" Lúthien asks Legolas.
"Yes. I am going to help Y/n settle in. Thank you, Lúthien." Legolas smiles.
Lúthien bows. "Let me know if ether of you need anything." She walks away.
We walk in to my quarters.
It has a beautiful bed in the middle of room. A balcony on one side of the room and a vanity on the Other.
I look through the clear balcony doors admiring Mirkwood.
"Mirkwood is beautiful."
Legolas stands next to me and wraps an arm around me. "I am glad you like it Aurë."
I lay my head on his shoulder. Legolas kisses the top of my head.
I leave his side and sit on the bed.
"So can you tell me more about this 'Tauriel'?"
"Her parents were ambushed by orcs when she was very young, she came to Mirkwood and we became close friends, through the years I began getting feelings for her. That was until she met a dwarf, who she fell in love with but he later died in war. That is when I left seeking adventure. During those years, I met Aragorn. I was invited to the council, I met you and realized that what I thought I had with Tauriel was weak compared to what I feel for you."
"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask.
"I did not know how. I am sorry, I should have told you." Legolas says seeming sad.
I stand back up and give him a hug.
"It's alright. It doesn't change that I love you, nothing ever will." I pull away before kissing him.
I tug on Legolas's braid playfully and he smiles at me.
"You should get some rest before dinner, Meleth nin."
"Fine. You better get some rest too, that's not a suggestion."
Legolas grins. "Yes, ma'am."
He kisses my cheek before leaving.
I crawl into the bed and fall asleep.
