Legolas playfully picks me up bridal style.

"Shall we go share our news, Aurë?"

I kiss him. "Of course."

Legolas carries me back to the doors then sits me down.

He opens the door for me.

"Thank you, nin mel."

We walk back inside.

"Who shall we tell first?" Legolas asks.

"If Kylaney wasn't passed out I would tell her... How about Aragorn? We've known him the longest."

"Of course, Aurë."

I grab ahold of Legolas's hand with a smile. "Let's go find him."

We walk back into the party.

Aragorn is visiting with Gandalf in a corner.

I happily walk over there.

"Aragorn, may we speak with you?" I ask grinning.

"Of course, Mellons."

We lead him out of the hall.

"What is it you want to talk to me about?"

I hold up my hand with the ring, grinning. "We're engaged!"

Aragorn smiles. "Congratulations!"

He hugs Legolas.

"I wish the best for both of you." He tells us when he pulls away.

"Thank you, Mellon." Legolas says.

Suddenly I hug Aragorn. "Thank you for setting us up."

He smiles at me when I pull away.

"What can I say? I'm a genius." Aragorn grins.

I laugh. "Sure."

~after telling Gandalf and Gimli~

Me and Legolas are outside sanding watch.

"Y/n, I have something to tell you. Since we are engaged, it is only fair that I tell you."

"Yes?"

"Have you heard of the Woodland realm's war with the kingdom of  Angmar?"

I nod. " I believe so."

"My Mother died in that battle..." his voice was quiet, it had sadness in it.

"Is that why you didn't stay in Mirkwood?"

He nods with his eyes closed.

"My father does not speak of it. There is no grave, no memory... nothing."

I pull him into my arms.

He wraps his arms around me then lays his forehead on my shoulder.

I hear a small, quiet sniffle.

He pulls away trying to look completely fine.

"Anyways, I thought you shoul-"

I cut him off. "Legolas, it's okay to be sad. You don't have to act tough all of the time, it will slowly kill you. Trust me, I know."

"I've always had to be strong, my father would look down on me if I was anything other than strong."

"Well, he can deal with it. Things like that is more than okay to be sad, or cry over."

I pull him into another hug.

A few seconds later he pulls away then turns around.

Were those tears?
