"Oh My God!" Camryn cried looking at the screen.
"It's a trap! Komarov knew they were coming." JoJo gasped, shaken by the unexpected event.
"You do realize what this means." Masha turned to her.
"Yes. This makes us the last line of defense!"
JoJo went up the cockpit to check their position, they were still thirty minutes away from drop-point.
"We make the drop now." JoJo instructed.
"You'll be fifty kilometers off target." the pilot answered.
"We'll glide."
"What about the cargo?"
"Drop it..." JoJo traced her finger down the digital map. "Here, in the woods."
The team put on their helmets, turning on their own oxygen supply, without it one would pass out instantly at this altitude.
The cabin lights turned red, signaling a drop of air pressure, then the rear ramp of the Antonov lowered, revealing a sea of clouds under the moonlight.
"Let see if those wings can hold." Tilly turned to the giant Kazakh.
"Just make sure you don't get blow off the continent!" Masha looked down at her small size.
"Are you sure you want to do this, Brooke?" asked JoJo, giving Camryn one last check.
"This is my home, and my family!" Brooke slapped down her visor.
"Stay behind us, don't get reckless. Think of Dima and Sofia."
"Right now I'm thinking Mom and Paige." Brooke checked her wing suit one last time. "Let's do this!"
Jumping from thirty-five thousand feet, they were well above any commercial flights. Tilly dove head first into the air, Brooke followed.
"You're gonna be all right. You did this a hundred times." JoJo told Camryn.
"In a simulator!" the black girl gulped.
Fearing of height, Camryn staggering to the edge, with JoJo piggyback from behind. She shut her eyes and let JoJo took her to freefall.
"I'll see you later!" Masha took one last look at the cargo and leaped.
They dove vertically in a head-first position, cutting draft to reach terminal velocity, travelling faster than anything without thrust support.
"This is one way to get into America!" JoJo screamed with thrill.
"And screw all metal detectors at airports!" Tilly yelled with joy.
Brooke stayed quiet, focusing on the altimeter display on her visor, so focused she could only hear her heartbeat. She needs to save her family, but she would be no good if she plunge into the ground.
Soon as they broke the low level clouds, Tilly opened the wings at her back, it produced a violent tug, jerking her to a slow decent.
"Masha! Where are you?" Tilly looked around, suddenly a giant shadow swished right pass her head, creating a strong turbulent that threw her off guard. "Masha! You idiot!"
"Sorry! Didn't see you there, humming bird!" Masha laughed.
Ahead of her, Masha was carrying two pair of giant wings on her back, wider than anyone's, rolling in the air like a dragonfly.
"Guys! Stay focus!" JoJo instructed. She was piggybacking Camryn, who was still shaken from the freefall. "Easy, it's just like swimming."
Her hands were on Camryn's back, at the spin where the two wings met were a set of rings, designed to detach on emergency, it also allows a secondary to take control of the wings. Like a coach to a student, JoJo made correction on Camryn's flight, literally taking the medic under her own wings.
Up ahead she could see lights, but unlike the usual night sky of a metropolis, Pittsburgh was pitch-dark, like a scene from some apocalyptic movies. She just hopes they weren't too late.
