Affection. It's no more a word but an emotion that outrageously weighs more than anything else he had felt for someone in a long time and it terrifies him more than it probably should. It had broken him the last time he'd developed affection and attachment towards someone who stomped all over it and left.
Sure risk comes first then the benefits but with his heart, he was more of a keep them in the safety fence of a person. Once it gets attached it's hard to get detached and the worst would be him destroying every other person he thinks tries to make their way to his vulnerable heart.
But Sofia was different; she came and started to make her way to his heart which was full of scars from his past unknowingly he had let her in. He knew she was capable of doing that and that very reason has made him fenced up getting bitter about everything or anything she did. It was hard for him no lie not to be attracted to a person who had the finest, loveliest, kindest, and most beautiful heart that he had ever known. She was an angel sent on earth with a heart so pure it was impossible to ignore.
As soon as she was into Abidi she made everyone one of them her closest. Everyone seems to be so fond of her that they were still keeping in contact with her more than him. It would be an understatement if he had said she was the queen of hearts.
Arsalan smiles at his laptop screen he had his eyes glued on for the past fifteen minutes and he didn't even realize Zaid entering his cabin and standing right next to him "who are you going to buy that necklace for?" He whispered.
Arsalan visibly jumps when he hears his cousin's voice looming above him. Minimizing the screen with frantic hands he looked over his shoulder at Zaid "what are you doing here?" Arsalan narrowed his eyebrows at him which would make people scared but Zaid ain't no scared of his brother's attempt to look scary "Has the given work been done?"
"Yes and was that for bhabhi?" Zaid asked his tone mischievous but his expression feigned to be an innocently looking curious cat.
"Why does that matter to you?" Ignoring him Arsalan takes the file tucked in Zaid's arm.
"It does if my lovely brother is planning to surprise my adorable sister-in-law then it's my duty to help you out if necessary with all matters"
"Who said I am surprising her or anything? Focus on the work Zaid that's where you need to put your curiosity the most"
"You know what bhai? The more you tend to hide the fact the more it shows on your face and that's exactly what I am looking at right now"
Arsalan's head snapped in his direction with a death glare "I am not hiding anything!"
"Yeah, yeah of course you are not anyone in the room would tell that" Zaid casually walks and takes his seat in front of Arsalan and shrugs "that is what they say when they get caught"
"Stop pulling that tone on me you know I don't like that tone" Arsalan warns with sharp eyes directed towards his brother.
"And then you get riled up at a matter of fact when you could just accept and go forward with it" he paused leaning his back on the chair weaving his fingers placing his arm on the arm of the chair he continued giving a lopsided smile to his brother "or should I call and tell bhabhi about you putting the efforts of buying something for her. Specifically, a necklace"
Arsalan snorts "you won't dare"
Zaid's lopsided smile stretches a little bit more at that "don't tempt me brother jaani you know I love challenges" he reaches out for his pocket and removes his phone.
"Yeah? Then I dare you to try"
Zaid gives him a mischievously naughty full-blown smile "ok then. You asked for it" and he taps on his phone for a bit and then puts his phone on speaker.
