Sofia stretched her hand above her head as she walked down the stairs for buffet breakfast. Farhana had knocked on her door to let her know that today's breakfast was taking place in the east wing backyard with all the guests already present and she was super late.

Not her mistake though she came in late in the night after winding up yesterday's event with other ladies and slumped herself to her bed. Arsalan may have come later because he wasn't in the room when she had entered and she had no idea when he slept next to her, she was that deeply knocked out. But it was surprising for her to see him get up earlier than her and move forward with his day. She was sure he had gone for his daily morning run with Azhar. By now she was thorough with Arsalan's everyday morning routine.

She was greeted when she passed by some guests and met other family members who were leaving the buffet to get ready for the day.

"Sofia you haven't had anything yet, beta?" Malakeh asked when she spotted her daughter-in-law entering the backyard.

Sofia looked sheepish as she replied "I woke up late Malakeh Aunty" while scratching the back of her neck.

"God, they are almost finished with the food" Malakeh panicked as she looked around as if she could get the solution to the problem.

"It's fine Aunty really" Sofia gently squeezed her mother-in-law's hand "I will have whatever is left you don't have to worry"

"No wait I will go make something for you till then you eat some fruit"

"It's really fine Aunty don't trouble yourself"

"No no there is a lot of work today you will be moving all day long and I don't want you to be empty stomach. You wait here I will quickly make something for you alright and don't feel like you are troubling me or anything ok?"

"But-"

"No, but sit and wait here I will be right back or I will send the food through someone's hand do not go anywhere ok?" Malakeh asked sternly.

"Ok" Sofia nodded with a small smile and Malakeh left the backyard with a mission to cook something for her daughter-in-law.

Sofia strolled through the buffet and she could see almost everything was over, only fresh fruits were restocked and some fresh juices. So she grabbed a plate and picked up an orange, a piece of pineapple and watermelon and with a glass of strawberry juice she walked towards the round table arranged with chairs to eat.

The backyard was nicely set up for buffet breakfast with shades above so the winter morning sunlight won't be harsh on the guest and the heater on. It was eleven in the morning and everyone had already been done with their breakfast. The backyard was almost empty with no more than 5 to 7 people chit-chatting while sipping their coffee or tea at the end corner.

Sofia went through her phone as she nipped into her fruits and took small gulps of her juice replying to every mail and text message she had received yesterday that she didn't get time to read.

When she was done with her fruits a plate filled with freshly made kebabs and scrambled eggs with roti was replaced with her empty fruit plate. She snapped her head up to see Arsalan hovering above her head looking so damn handsome with his messed up wavy hair falling over his eyes in a haughty caress, flushed cheeks from the run and a fitting sports gear that prominent his drool-worthy muscles. At that moment she wanted nothing but to run her fingers through his thick black hair.
