"Fucking hell" Arsalan groans as he tossed himself to the other side trying to get his sleep which refused to take over him.
He couldn't even bat an eye after coming from Shahana's place. He thought his exhausted body from the tiring day might now shut down but no they were wide awake like a fucking owls.
Frustrated, he sits up throwing his duvet away from him and raking a hand through his hair. He picks up his phone from the nightstand to see the time. It was fucking three in the morning and yet there was no sign of any sleep.
It was strange as hell staying awake this late though he had a very tiring day. He would have slept like a hog by this time.
He sighed and gets out of his bed stretching his hand above his head as he walks towards his terrace balcony, one of his favourite places in his room. Sliding the ceiling-to-floor length glass door after parting the window curtains he entered the terrace. Inhaling the fresh air soothed his frantic nerves while he stood near his glass railing that looked over the city.
The cold air hummed touching his heated skin and he closed his eyes feeling it. Inhaling a huge amount of air he exhales as he opens his eyes, losing himself in the view of the night under the luminous moonlight.
He ponders about his life lately; everything has changed since Sofia made the entry. He was a man lost in the world of hard work preparing himself to be the best among all. Fighting for the dream his father left behind and building it into a fucking empire today. Sofia was a mere fragment from his childhood that stayed blurred in the back of his head. He could only remember parts of their childhood together such as her being the biggest crybaby, crazy about sweets which she still is, she loved getting attention wrapping everyone around her tiny little fingers. He chuckled when he remembered how he used to pull her braids just to see her cry and she would throw tantrums until he was reprimanded by Malakeh. She was the same innocent little naive Sofia with big curious brown eyes but now she wasn't little anymore she had grown up to be a beautiful young woman. A woman who he had married.
He had never in his wildest dream dreamt of marrying her. Malakeh never brought up her topic when they left India for Boston. She usually would say she misses her and that was just it and he had completely forgotten her when he left his house and rented a studio apartment near his university. He became a boy who never cared for anyone else other than himself selfish arrogant jerk. Partied hard, studied even harder and did everything a young man in his early twenties would do. Women loved him but he only loved one. For whom he was damn crazy about so much that he was about to propose to her for marriage and that's when things went down. He never got to propose to her. Arsalan's father Niyamat met with a terrible car accident in London when he had gone on a business trip to finalise his dream of building a hotel chain with an investor.
It was a big blow for the entire Abidi clan who demanded their return back to India to bury their son's body in their homeland. Arsalan's uncle asked him to take over what his father had left behind and look after his mother and sister who needed him the most. He was just twenty-one when he held the reins and overtook the duty of his deceased father. Listening to his uncle's advice and his mother's request they settled back in India and soon he got busy taking over everything his father left. The blueprints of his future hotel chain. So starting from scratch he put all his efforts into making the Paradise Lux his father once dreamed of.
Everything was so messed up when he started putting his divided attention between his work and the love of his life. She stayed in Boston while he stayed in India. Things were hard for him; he had lost his father and was suddenly put over to take responsibility for what meant the world to him. It was tough for him to be away from her, the ache he felt every day killed him every single day. And there was a saying about what wasn't meant to be wouldn't stay and exactly that was what had happened.
