Sofia nods at the security guards on the gate of her office building as she enters the building of Mirza Industrial Estate and walks straight to her elevator after nodding towards the floor receptionist. She enters the elevator when it descends from the fifteenth floor letting her know her best friend/ business partner have already arrived at the office. Reaching on the floor everyone greeted her with an enthusiasm which made her feel good. She likes when her employees are full enthusiastic even in the early morning. Sofia smile at each of the employees she meets on her way until she reaches her cabin she pushes open the door and walk towards her table to be only greeted by a pair of grey eyes that always mock her.
Scoffing she takes the seat "so you again on the business magazine cover huh? Number one businessman of the year. Wait until I and Shahana take this title from you" Sofia said to no one but at the man posing on the cover of a business magazine looking ever so devilishly handsome. She finds his eyes pretty mocking and yet pretty attractive but she didn't dare to look at his name or else she will find him out and send a mail or a letter to his company to stop coming on the business magazine cover this frequently let other people have their chance too. Which she of course don't wanna do that will not only humiliate her but her company too and she can't risk it. Her company is her baby.
The door of her cabin opens and comes the familiar voice of her best friend "Kiya bolti item!" Shahana enters with a wide grin on her face.
"Kiya bolu item life hi jhand hai aapni" Sofia let out a dramatic sigh.
"Bro you suck in tapori language for real. Are you even Mumbaikar?" Shahana slumps down on the chair opposite Sofia.
"Bro don't doubt that Mumbai jaan hai meri" Sofia defends herself while placing her right hand on her heart.
"Woh toh hai" Shahana nods at her while Sofia boosts up her laptop to power "so made your discussion yet?" Shahana asked her.
Sofia didn't have to ask Shahana what she was talking about because she clearly knows what the question is about. "No. Not yet" typing away the password she said to Shahana.
Sofia has been dodging this question for straight one week now. Whenever Zulfiqar asked her or brings up the topic of the proposal that Malakeh Abidi had made towards Sofia for her son, Sofia would make excuses or come up with another topic to make her baba forget about asking her consent to the proposal. She literally runs early in the morning to her office or spends time at her favourite cafe that opens early until she can go to her office. Today she was lucky she didn't have to run for office to escape from her father because he left earlier than her. But how long she is going to escape from this? Even she didn't know about it.
"Not yet? Then when babe? You know that you can't run from this for a lifetime right?" Shahana said and smiled towards Ritu who came in with two cups of coffee.
"Thank you Ritu," Sofia said as she took her coffee so did Shahana.
"I know I can't I'm just not ready for it yet I guess," Sofia said to Shahana and then turn towards her assistant. After gaining her attention Ritu started informing Sofia about today's schedules.
"Lastly you have to meet Mrs Kumar today she will be visiting you" Ritu informed her to which both Sofia and Shahana groan.
Ritu leaves after informing Sofia about today's schedule and returns to her desk while Shahana thought about continuing the talk which they left in between. "So back to about you getting hitched" Sofia rolls her eyes but Shahana chose to ignore that and continued "babe I know that marriage was never on your list but it is how it is one or the other day we girls have to get married set our new home new future new family that would sound bothering now but it's actually beautiful. Think how powerful God has made us women of taking such a great responsibility agar nahi hota toh duniya ki sari ladkiyan shadi na karti. Plus you are 24 aur 25 cross karne k bad toh rishta hi nahi aayenge bolenge ki budhi hogayi hai Sofia toh" Shahana laughed at that.
