The sunlight bathing in through the ceiling-to-floor sliders was quite sharper than what she was used to back in her home, standing on the balcony, she faced the city heights for the first time in her life. The city was bustling from the 50th floor and as far as the eye could see were the tall buildings, and skyscrapers that were shining against the sun and the blue line of metal sheet coated her view and of course the sea a bit far away from the tall buildings glinting under the bright rays of the sun as it waves dances freely before it hits the shore.

This was undoubtedly her new view of her new life that she was going to witness every morning.

Mumbai hits differently as they say it's a dream city for many people where hopes bloom and achieving them rather blooms harder. But here she was in the hope that this new city brings her the peace her heart and soul beg for. She would rather not face another heartbreak that she might be unable to endure.

Her, Zaid and his parents had landed in Mumbai at 1 am day before yesterday and today was her third day in Mumbai already. Her rukshati from Abidi Manor was quite heart-wrenching. Biding farewells to your loved ones does not come easy; she experienced it first-hand.

And no, no amount of new beginnings can ever make her forget her home back in Lucknow.

As for the new beginnings she and Zaid made an understanding with their situation regarding the most important thing. The bed.

She has been treated all her life no less than a princess and the idea of spending the upcoming nights on the sofa of her new room did not sit well with her when they talked on the topic and it was the only available furniture where a man can lay on his back.

Sensing her discomfort, Zaid offered to sacrifice his bed for her and decided to occupy the sofa.

He was no less of a prince himself in the two-floor house which they call here a duplex that of course was not as big enough as the manor to run around freely that she was used to but quite spacious enough not to feel congested. And as per her knowledge not once such a situation might have arisen for him to sleep on the sofa.

She walks back inside the room and slowly pads her way to check on him. The lights coming through the large windows brighten up the entire room but do not affect him as he sleeps on that uncomfortable sofa looking totally exhausted. Guilt blooms inside her as a thought crosses her head what if he gets a stiff neck once he wakes up?

The man had been tossing the entire night finding the comfortable angel to sleep and looks like he might've given up altogether with the way one of his hand was dangling to the floor and the other was pressed against his chest as he slept on his stomach.

She silently marvels at his face, his usually straight hair which has always been neatly combed back falls on his forehead reaching his closed eyes in a bouncy curl and those long eyelashes kissing the prominent cheekbones were pretty fascinating. She never understood how men have such voluminous eyelashes that enhance their masculine beauty.

As her thoughts settled, those closed eyes snapped open not a second later, startling her.

Unblinking those dark orbs watched her silently making her breath heavier, she felt immovable while being caught staring at a sleeping man who looked unintentionally attractive. What a remarkable move Abeer! She reprimanded herself in her head but couldn't find the courage even to move away.
