The dim lights around the lush green garden came to life. The slow cold breeze swept around rustling the leaves on the trees, and the chirping of birds ceased as the daylight welcomed the dusk of the evening when the breathing of two people mingled in the air with the taste of uncertainty and heartbreaks.

The wind kissed her cheeks and ruffled her long loose hair as she gaped at him with wide eyes. Surprise took over her when she heard him say the last words. At first, she couldn't grasp but when she did it shook her within. Of course, she understood what it meant but what astounded her was that it was coming from him.

The man standing in front of her in his dishevelled state which was totally out of character confessed to her something she had never in her million years would have thought he had felt anything for her other than the relation they already shared.

"Say something Asmara" Her name never sounded this strange to her and she snapped out of her piling thoughts that felt nothing but more sickening.

"You–you are..." She shook her head as if getting rid of what he confessed "uttering nonsense Tanveer" She laughed because that didn't make sense to her not when they were nothing but enemies in the form of cousins who always were behind each other throats—and falling for her? No, it can't be real.

Tanveer's blood fumed, and a roaring rage flooded his veins at her mocking laugh. Does she think he was joking? That his feelings are nothing but words of foolish talk?

He let out a breath as he clenched his fist controlling himself and his raging anger dousing it completely when he finally spoke "If you think I am uttering nonsense then tell me Asmara why does my heart burn whenever I see you around other men? Why did I almost want to strangle the life out of Eshan when he tried to get close to you? Why is it that my heart skips a beat at the glimpse of you and then why does it beat madly at your laughter or your soft alluring smiles? Why do I push and push away your thoughts but they come back in tenfolds? Why is that—"

"Stop!" Asmara exclaimed her mind a jumble of any clear thoughts "Stop it Tanveer" She shook her head "You claim all this on what basis?" her mind was now able to form words for her to speak as anger took upon her, her entire demeanoure changed into pure fury "When you only did was portray yourself nothing but to be a continuous nuisance with your unbearable direct taunts, your pranks and your stupid meaningless bickering, your way of keeping me irritated with the constant fight whenever I am around you and being satisfied once you were done at irking me for your benefit of fun" she closed the whatever space was left between them and jabbed a finger on his chest "and somehow all of this which is led by you made me not like you much, made me feel nothing but a cousin who is not more than an enemy, so no anything you say won't change my mind"

Tanveer looked down at her small figure raging with anger her lips were in an angry tight line her hazel eyes ablaze her dainty finger pressing on his chest all that and he still found her the most beautiful woman who had the power to take his breath away. He smiled at her softly and said "And yet you care for that very cousin of yours, don't you?" his smile broaden when the tight line of her lips loosened "Yes, I did all that Asmara because that was the only way I knew to have your attention to have you for myself not to let the other man take you away from me and I am truly sorry for what all I have done but know that I have not done all this intentionally to hurt you or anything but because that were the ways of having you just for myself" he lifted his hand to her face and tugged away the tendril of hair off her face "call me selfish for doing that and I will open heartily take that blame"
