Sports Festival Pt. 3

(Izuku POV)

Don't ask me how, I honestly don't know, but we made it to the final round of the UA sports festival. When the list was posted on who would be moving on to the next round, I almost cried. We had made it. With all of our points. How..?

I have no idea.. Anyway- it's time for lunch, aka, the secret cheer meeting. 

As everyone lined up for lunch, I exchanged glances with the people who I knew were doing the cheer. We all planned to go to the gym to eat, as no one would be there. I got my lunch from Lunch Rush and rushed my way down to the gym, sandwich in hand. 

When I arrived, Tokage-san had already brought the extra uniforms and a few of the students we had recruited had arrived. After five minutes when everyone had arrived we began.

"Okay everyone! Who's excited to cheer?" Tokage-san prompted

The group of around thirty students cheered.

I noticed that I was like the only boy in there. Oh- wait. There's Yokota-kun from my elective! 

"Alright everyone! Please line up and have your size in mind! We will need it to get you a properly fitting uniform!" Tokage-san smiled at the crowd.

I lined up along with the other students. This was going to be so much fun!

After trying on my uniform I smiled. Even though I probably wasn't supposed to be wearing the girls uniform, I looked damn good in it! Yep. I'm wearing this!

I sat down with the group of students. I was happy that there were more then just hero course students here. Yokota-kun was wearing the male uniform when he came out of the changing room, and he came to sit down next to me.

"Congrats on making it to the final round Midoriya-kun!" He said smiling.

"Thanks! I saw you during the obstacle course! You looked like you were doing really good! What happened?"

"Ah- thank you! My quirk is really good for balance, that's why I'm here. I used to be a flyer in my junior high's cheer team. I did pretty good with the second and third obstacle, but when that ice guy from your class froze the ground I couldn't get out. That's why I didn't make it in time.." 

"Oh! Sorry about that! Shoto really wanted to win with his ice so he could prove that he didn't need his "father's power" to win." I explained.

"No problem! I'm actually kind of glad that I didn't make it any further. I don't know how I would've dealt with having to team up with total strangers."

We laughed a little before finishing our lunches and chatting with some of the other students. 

An announcement rang over the speakers signaling the end of lunch period and saying that everyone should head out to the field for the cheer off. Everyone grabbed pompoms from a big plastic bin and walked down the halls to the stadium chatting. We decided that we wanted to make an entrance, so we went out only when Midnight-sensei said,

"And now, our very own.. Unofficial UA cheer team!!"

Had we maybe possibly talked her into introducing us..? Yes! We had! And it was so worth it!

Hearing the crowd cheer as we walked out strutting our stuff was immaculate! I saw a few people with their phones out as we walked into the arena. Mineta had fainted, good riddance I say.

I waved my pompoms around wildly as all of us cheered. God- I need to do this more often!

"Wow! Looking good everyone! Now- let's start this cheer off!" Midnight said enthusiastically, "Please head to your classes so we can see which class has the most school spirit!"

I ran over to 1a along with the girls and hugged Sho.

"What do you think?" I asked, twirling in my costume.

Sho's face was really red and he just barely managed to stutter out, "I-it l-look gr-eat I-Izu!"

I laughed and said, "Okay- let's show some school spirit!"

"Alright! Now- each class will be cheering at one point! At the end, audience members will be able to vote for which class had the best cheer!" Midnight spun around, "Extra points if they're wearing the uniform!"

I giggled along with Uraraka-san who was standing nearby. We high fived. We're so cool.

Different classes went one at a time. I could tell that some people really didn't want to be here.

When it was our class's turn, we all screamed like madmen and threw our pompoms in the air. Even Kacchan was cheering- I'm honestly quite surprised! Then I saw Kirishima-kun give Kaminari-kun a high five. They probably made a deal with Kacchan so he would cheer.

I bounced up and down, waving my pompoms wildly. I wonder how much trouble I'll be in for this..? Nah. I'm pretty sure Papa would've done the same thing. We're all good.

"Alright! That's all the classes! Audience members, please cast your vote for the best cheering!"

While the results were coming in, Hito came over and shook me.

"What the hell are you wearing!? There are probably some perverts out there taking your picture and making a shrine of you!" He cried.

I laughed, "Don't worry Hito- besides, I don't look that good!"

He looked at Sho, "You understand me- right Shoto?"

Sho was still a blushing mess so he just nodded.

"See? Shoto doesn't want any other guys looking at you either! I would consider that as cheating so..."

Now it was my turn to turn a dark shade of red.

"Hito! We're not dating and you know it!" I pouted.

Hito laughed as I covered my face. Shoto seemed like he was about to pass out from embarassment.

"Hitoshi.. Now Ashido-san is going to tease us about this for the rest of our lives, you do understand that.. Right..?" Sho sighed, embarrassed.

"Yep! That's the plan!" Hito smiled as he walked back over to class 1b. The results had come in.

"And the winners of the cheer off are..." Midnight paused, "Class 1A!!!"

My class burst into cheers. Thank goodness we won! I would have been happy if another class won, but this is even better! People from other classes came over and congratulated us. I gave most of the cheerleading people high-fives and told the that I could tell they were working hard to cheer the loudest. The community was very lively at that moment. I think that was probably the best part of the festival for me.

When everyone had finished chatting, we all went to our respective areas. I changed back into my sports uniform and returned my cheerleading costume. I had gotten pictures with everyone in my class who had a uniform on, along with some other people. I went back on to the field to see what the matches would be.
