49 - In Another Life

The beat of the music can be heard as you went further down the steps. The whole stairway towards the entrance is way wider now too. Two wooden doors stand at the entrance, where a burly security person is standing inside to check the incoming patrons. His expression changed dramatically when he sees his bosses making their way inside with all of you trailing behind them. The two guys paused for a brief chat and a casual banter. It's not hard to see that their employees are at ease with them, which is good to see.

You were blown away by how much change the place had in its interior too. It's bigger now, with more sets of bar tables and chairs scattered around the place, the design had an artistic modern theme. The stage is fully equipped with a sophisticated and high-quality system giving a more defined sound around the area. There's a large open space which Namjoon explains serves as a dancefloor for the customers and performers since they also showcase solo and group dancers.

Hoseok and Namjoon exchanged high fives and fist bumps as they got greeted by patrons and staff. Some of them recognized JK too as they congratulated him for his recent tournament win after stopping him for a selfie. You were ushered to a private section which was on a leveled area at the back where you have a better view of the stage. The steps at the side lead to a private restroom, an office, and an emergency exit or entrance which they use if they don't want to get noticed by people when they come in. 

"Wow, this place looks great guys. There so much space now." You tell them as you look around the place from your spot.

"There was a warehouse at the back which we used to be a part of the club, that's why." Namjoon tells you happily. He and Hoseok look like very proud owners, just as you feel Jay, especially Yoongi, would be too. The performance started interrupting your thoughts.

All of you were in awe of the talents that you see. Every performer gave their best. Drinks were served nonstop at your table. You hold back from drinking much while your twin did the exact opposite. JK had to get the alcohol beyond her reach to stop her from consuming more. You can't help but smile as you watch the two argue over it. It seems like this guy is a keeper as he managed to keep his cool even though your sister is acting like a brat. Your sister better see that, or you'll be knocking some sense into her.

You're happy over how things are turning out for your sister. A picture of Crystal showing her pregnancy bump flashes into your head. A voice enters your thoughts, and you refuse to entertain it, so you try to escape it by excusing yourself to the private restroom at the top of the steps. But, no matter what you do, you can't escape reality because you run into Crystal as you were making your way out. She gives you a smile.

"Hi, we meet again." She said.  

"Yes, we did." You reply. Questions come flooding inside your head once again about her pregnancy. You were so deep in your thoughts you didn't notice that she was asking you something. 

"Sorry, what's that?" You ask again.

"I said, you dated Yoongi before, right?" She tells you, her smile not leaving her face. 

You know you told yourself earlier that what happened in the past is done. You want to think of nice thoughts about her now, but her smile and her question somehow annoys you. 

"Yes." There's no point denying it because she has seen you with Yoongi before.

She nods her head. "I remember you too well. You broke his heart when you left, you know."

You give out a long deep sigh, you have no idea why she is telling you this. But you manage to fire back at her with a satisfactory reply.  

"I know that. He told me when I last saw him. We already sorted things out."
