52 - Long Overdue

Seeing Yoongi in Jeju is a big surprise for you. Your cousin obviously played a part in this. How would he know you're here if she didn't tell him? No wonder she didn't attempt to convince you to talk with him anymore because she knew he was coming. Or did they arrive together? Did your grandmother know too? Perhaps they got to talk before coming to your room this morning. So many questions were popping into your head. 

You can't deny the fact that every part of you quivered when you heard his voice. Now that his eyes meet yours, the intensity of his gaze is making your insides melt, the way he always does when he stares at you. You didn't even realize you were holding your breath.

This talk is long overdue. You're the type who confronts things head on but after the disappointment when you had that talk with Crystal, you find yourself constantly retreating.  But he is here right now, which means he's trying to prove a point to you. It's too good to be true. Your cousins' words echo inside your head, Yoongi isn't the father of Crystal's baby. You are about to find out the truth about that. You have other questions you want to ask as well. You are positive he has questions to ask you too.

 The silence was finally broken when Yoongi spoke.

"I heard that you've been delaying the chance for us to talk that's why I personally came here Y/N. This cannot wait...I cannot wait because it's driving me crazy. Last night, I've learned a lot of things from Elin. Today, I got a call from hyung and noona confirming what your cousin told me.  I've heard it from everyone but you. Now, please tell me everything and listen to what I have to say too" 

You clutch on the pillow you were holding as if it'll shield you from him. Your heart continues to beat wildly in your chest.

"What would you like to know first Yoongi?" Your throat feels dry as you spoke.

He slowly walks towards you but he stops close to the other bed where Elin was sitting earlier.

"Is it true that you're no longer engaged? That the two of you broke up?" He looks at your finger where your ring used to be.

You touch that finger as your eyes break away from his. It seems so long ago when you walked into that room and saw Dylan and Matt in bed together, culminating the end of your engagement. Your guilt and feelings for Yoongi added to the complication of your relationship. It's bound to end even if you wanted it to work.  

Yoongi knew your answer right away as he sees the sad look that crossed your face. He felt a pang of  pain in his chest. He didn't know the reason why the two of you broke up, but whatever it is, he is sure you were hurt. He decided to let you go back to your fiancee because he knew you loved Dylan too. He felt it whenever you were together, you've always been holding back. Right at that moment, he just wants to look for that bastard and beat him for hurting you. 

He himself is no better for he's also guilty in adding to your pain.  He took the punishment for it though, with sleepless nights just thinking of you, wishing you were next to him. He numbs the ache of missing you by getting drunk. But he faces the same ordeal when he wakes up and it's an unending cycle.

"Yes. We broke up just before dad died." You reply.

Yoongi felt the tension he's been having inside him got released as soon as he hears this. 

"But you were together during the funeral." He remarks as he continues to voice out the things that have been bothering him.

"He was there as a friend. We were together for quite a bit and he had made promises to my dad that he wasn't able to keep. He felt bad." You steal a glance at Yoongi and you see his eyes were still on you and he was frowning as he processed your words.
