MY Yesterday and Forever

23 - Signals

You find Sungha and another man sitting by the doors of the function room. You greet them with a smile. Sungha smiles at you this time, unlike the previous stoic and stiff look he used to give you. You do share a secret about Yoongi slipping out of his room last night. 

You can hear the music behind the door which turned loud as you open it. The dancer's backs were turned away from the door, but you can see they were doing some fancy choreography on one of Yoongi's songs. 

The staff greets you and you bow and greet them back. David motions for you to approach him. 

"Hi. It's good to see you here. I am glad you didn't decide to quit after last night. I am really sorry that happened." He tells you.

You give him a reassuring smile. "It's alright. I have decided to overlook that unfortunate event and just hold on to your word Mr. Lee that things like that will not happen again."

"I mean what I've said and I'm happy you decide to stay. Did you have lunch? We won't be having our breaks until after the rehearsals. I suggest you take it right now if you haven't yet because Kitty might arrive in thirty minutes. There's food at the corner there." He motions to the opposite side of the room which had a table set up of a variety of items. You just had your meal before you left so you're not that hungry.

"By the way, Kitty is bringing her own choreographer today and she might make suggestions on their dance. If you can just help translate for them, it'll be greatly appreciated." David adds. When he has nothing more to say, he bows his head which you return before walking away.

You see Yoongi standing on one side of the room, his head turns in your direction but quickly looks away. It's as if he didn't see you. He did mention last night he be distant and avoid will talking with you in front of everyone today, so you don't take his action negatively despite your previous conversation.

You sit next to Hyeri and you chat briefly about how things are. Your eyes keep on shifting  to the activity that is happening in front of you. The dancers exited and Yoongi was the only one left in the middle as he practiced a song. He doesn't have a mic with him, and he doesn't exert a lot of effort to keep his voice loud because he obviously doesn't want to strain it. He has a different vibe around him when he performs now compared to before. He looks very sure of himself. He still had that passion and intensity, and you wonder what he'd be like at the actual concert. You're suddenly excited for Friday to come.

A fifteen-minute break was announced and Hyeri tells you she had to go and work. She walks towards Yoongi who was talking with the choreographer, and she hands him a towel. He carefully dabs the sweat around his neck while Hyeri dabs his forehead and face. The filming crew captured every second of it. The director announces they're having a break not too long after Yoongi sits on a chair and grabs a bottled water and his phone from the table. 

Your heart starts to beat fast as you think that he's reading your message at the moment. It's hard to tell what his reaction is because his face remains neutral. Your phone buzzes and you know it's from him. He sets his phone down as the choreographer comes back to him followed by the rest of the dance crew. 

You have a look at your phone. Your intuition was right, it is from him.

I am not mad at you, but I am a bit disappointed. I'm just being honest, like I've said, I can't do that around a lot of people.

You contemplate your reply, but you decide to just not send one except for a sad-faced emoji. 😥

You look back at Yoongi and it seems that he is getting introduced to some of the dancers. Hyeri comes back and tells you that Yoongi usually has all male dancers, but he got additional female ones for this tour. They were all pretty and very tall, you remark to yourself. They all huddled together to get their picture taken with Yoongi. Everyone starts to walk away but two girls remain to get a selfie with him. He nods his head and smiles as his picture gets taken with each one of them. One of the girls couldn't take her eyes off him as she walks away, Yoongi notices it but doesn't show any reaction.
