Luna slammed her fist into the mirror sitting atop the dresser, a feral growl ripping its way from her chest. She was going to kill Thomas, rescue Bucky, and then kill him too. If he had just listened to her from the start, they wouldn't be in this situation. When she recovered him, he better never complain about her not listening to orders because he sure as hell didn't either. Luna didn't want to admit to herself that, not only did Bucky's actions make her angry, it hurt like hell.

Bucky was the first person she had confided in. She showed him every broken, damaged part of herself. In turn, he lied to her after promising that he wouldn't put himself in danger. If his goal was a relationship, he was off to a terrible start. How was she supposed to trust that he wouldn't lie to her again in the future, no matter his intention behind the lie.

Luna lifted her phone and furiously dialed Tony's number. She growled when it went to voicemail. She opened her contacts and searched through the list until she found the one she needed. Clicking on the number, she held the phone to her ear until the line picked up.

"Luna, how's the mission?"

"We have a problem. Thomas figured out who we are. He's got Bucky. I—" Luna pinched the bridge of her nose as she said her next words. "I need help."

"We're already on our way. Nat is estimating that we'll be there in an hour. Don't do anything until we get there."

"Sorry, Cap. I can't wait. I'm going to start my search at the industrial park right outside the city. That's where Thomas has been housing the bombs. Just get there as fast as you can. Oh, and tell Tony to pick up his fucking phone next time."

Luna disconnected the call as she heard Steve yelling her name. She grabbed her duffel bag of weapons and slung it over her shoulder. Megan's eyes swept over Luna as she entered the living room, taking note of the suit and the bag slung over her shoulder. Luna held her hand up before Megan could speak.

"I need your car. I can explain everything later, but right now all you need to know is that Bucky is in trouble and Thomas is the one that has him."

"What?" Megan's eyes went wide and her breathing accelerated.

"I know you're scared, but I don't have time for a pep-talk. I need your keys, Megan." Luna eyed Megan and held her hand out as she waited for the keys.

Megan grabbed her purse and fished her keys out. She dropped them into Luna's outstretched hand with a frown.

"I'm sorry about your boyfriend. I never thought anyone would get hurt. I just wanted to protect my son." Megan whispered.

"Bucky and I aren't dating." Luna said as she readjusted the bag on her shoulder.

"You aren't?" Megan's eyebrows shot up. "I'm sorry. I just assumed by the way he looked at you and the way he was so protective that you were together."

"Well, we aren't." Luna said bitterly as she headed for the door.

He lost that chance when he lied. She added internally.

"You should give him a chance, Luna. He loves you." Megan blurted out.

"What?" Luna froze with her hand on the doorknob. "He's not in love with me, Megan."

"Yes, he is. I've never seen a man look at a woman the way Bucky looks at you. It's like he wants to shield you from all the bad things in the world and give you the life you deserve."

"If he loved me then he wouldn't have put himself in danger." Luna murmured as she yanked open the door.

Luna slammed the door behind her as she walked towards Megan's car. She dropped her duffle onto the passenger seat and then peeled out of the driveway. Her foot pressed harder on the accelerator the closer she got to the industrial park. She spotted the service road right before the main road into the industrial park. She took a hard right onto the dirt road, barely slowing down as she flew deeper into the cover of the trees.
