Fury started at the beginning of Luna's history. He felt that her attack needed to be prefaced with what happened to her as a child. Luna's comparison of him to her father was part of the reason Liam had turned violent, after all. When Fury was done explaining the history of Luna's childhood and what happened between her and Liam, there was nothing but stunned silence. Steve felt sick to his stomach. That's what Bucky meant when he said Luna had been controlled by men her entire life. He wished he had left with Bucky and Nat. By the looks of it, so did everyone else.
"Poor Luna." Wanda whispered.
"Good thing her father is dead, because I wouldn't hesitate to shove my dagger through his throat." Loki growled.
"Save that rage for that fucker." Clint pointed towards the screen. "I don't see how he's walking around free."
"Luna wouldn't tell me who attacked her. I believed it was him, but without confirmation there was nothing I could do." Fury said.
"Someone had to hear something. You're telling me no one called the police when he was attacking her or at the very least spoke to you afterwards?" Tony said angrily.
"Only one of her neighbors was home at the time of the attack. As soon as the yelling started he said he put on headphones to drown out the noise. He couldn't tell me what they were fighting about, only that he could hear it was a man."
"Why wouldn't she tell you who it was? Didn't she want him arrested?" Peter asked.
"She was scared of him. Clearly she still is if she took off." Fury crossed his arms on the table and looked at Peter.
"Well, can you blame her?" Steve said, anger evident in tone. "He assaulted her and blamed her for his failures. Now you're here telling everyone what happened to her when she asked you to keep it to yourself."
"When her past could help us catch a domestic terrorist, I think I have every right to share that information."
Fury stood and rested his palms on the table as he stared at Steve.
"No, what you should've done is let Luna decide that."
Steve stood from his chair and mimicked Fury's stance.
"If I left it up to her, she'd never tell you."
Steve scoffed and shook his head.
"She's a person, Fury! It's up to her what she shares." Steve left the table and walked to the door when Fury yelled after him.
"We aren't finished, Rogers!"
"You may not be, but I am." He said and walked out the door.
"Steve, where are you going?" Sam called out as he ran down the hall after him.
"I'm going to help Bucky and Nat."
"With what?" Sam asked, falling into step beside him.
"With finding Luna. She didn't just run away because she wanted to be alone and I'm sure Bucky's figured that out. He'll try to find her."
"They're dating aren't they? That's why he's so protective of her and why he's been taking care of her." Sam pulled Steve to a stop and moved in front of him.
"It's not my business to tell, Sam." Steve sighed. "Right now we need to focus on finding Luna. If Liam is as bad as Fury said, it's not safe for her to be on her own."
"You're right." Sam said and let Steve continue walking. "If she's safe though, you know I'm going to tease the hell out of him, right? After all the protesting he did about not liking her and then he goes and starts dating her."
