Three years ago one decision tore them apart before they even could be together. Now they meet again. With memories of the past and sweet promises of the future the world doesn't seem so bad. But the greed and...

The darkness in the room was for the first time in Earth's life more disturbing than soothing. It felt like some twisted metaphor for how much in the dark he was when it came to everything about his father. All those years Earth had no idea how low his father's morals actually were. It was one thing knowing that his father wasn't exactly the best guy, an awful husband and not much of a better father but illegal business, child labour, and locking Earth's mother in a psychiatric clinic just so she couldn't say a word was something completely different.
But what was keeping Earth up right now the most was the involvement of Mix and his mother in all of this. At first, Earth thought that it was all his fault — dragging Mix into this whole mess but now...what was Mix's mother's role in this mess and why? It wasn't easy trying to stay positive and crack a joke here and there to make Mix feel better. Earth was also confused and hurt; he also needed answers.
His head hurt. Too many thoughts were battling on the battlefield in his mind and he didn't know which side to pick. In which side to believe. For which side to fight.
He couldn't sleep. He wanted to talk to Mix. Not about his father or Mix's mother, just about random stuff. Just having a little pillow talk would be like a fountain of life right now. At least for a couple of minutes to pretend that they were just a normal couple and that the world around them wasn't resembling a drama or some badly written novel.
Earth turned his head to his right. He watched Mix's chest slowly raising and falling back down, eyes closed, and eyelashes slightly fluttering in his sleep. Earth didn't want to wake him up. Mix looked like a little kitten, too precious to be suddenly woken up for no reason.
He turned his whole body towards Mix, resting his own head on his arm. Watching Mix sleeping until he would fall asleep too was enough, they could talk any time later.
The calming presence of having Mix so close was slowly engrossing Earth's whole body, he could almost feel his eyelids getting heavy when Mix slowly opened his eyes, and even in the dark Earth could see that spark that was in them only when Mix was looking at him.
"Can't sleep?" Mix whispered.
"Did I wake you up?" Earth whispered back.
Mix slightly shook his head, "I wasn't sleeping. I can't really."
"Uhmm...yeah," Earth breathed out.
"What were you thinking about?" Mix asked, scooting even closer to Earth than he already was.
Earth reached out his hand, fingers sinking into Mix's soft hair, "about you."
Mix smiled, "yeah? And what were you thinking about?"
"I wanted to talk."
Mix's body tensed under Earth's fingers, "about?"
"Don't worry, doll," Earth traced his fingers over Mix's cheek and behind Mix's neck where he let them rest. "Nothing in particular. Just about random things like...remember that one time at uni when you had to pose for my art project?"
