Staying in Colorado for a couple of days without having anything else to do besides waiting had its bright and less bright moments. Before Sing called Mix with the sad news Mix was hoping that those couple of days they were going to wait would be somewhat healing for both of them. That they would be able just to turn off their mind completely and just enjoy each other because they couldn't do anything else anyway.

However, Jay's death put another bug into their heads. Earth's father was getting either more and more crazy and dangerous or this was how he always was but Earth had no idea till recently. Whatever the case it wasn't a good feeling, especially for Earth.

Earth tried his best to figure out what could be the reason for Jay's death but nothing was making sense. Why would his father order someone to kill Jay so suddenly and on top of that, fake it all to be a suicide? What did his father know about Jay that Earth didn't?

Jay was hiding something from Earth that was for sure. He had the chance to tell everything to Earth that time when Earth caught him in his father's office but he didn't do it. Why? It was the perfect time to do it. Earth's father wasn't in Thailand and Earth caught him right in the office. Maybe Jay thought that Earth was in that dirty business with his father or maybe Jay planned something that would somehow hurt Earth too.

After two days since Sing's call Earth's mind was already as messy as it could get. His head hurt too much. He decided to give up on deciphering everything that was happening and just wait for what kind of light will his mother shine at all of this. He hoped that they would call him soon, telling him that his mother is finally back and hope that his father already went back to Thailand.

They talked about it with Mix, it would be better to wait until they would be completely sure that his father is back in Thailand so that they wouldn't accidentally meet at the clinic. That would be the last thing that would be needed for everyone.

On the third day of waiting they finally decided to take advantage of their free time and finally go out again to explore the city more. A museum date extended into an aquarium date. The aquarium date extended into a movie date. The movie date extended into a bar date and way after 3 am they finally got back to their hotel room. Laughing and stumbling through the door it took them almost another hour to shower and get to bed.

"Mix?"

"Hmm?" Mix opened one eye, he mumbled, "yes, baby?"

"Thank you," Earth whispered.

Mix opened his second eye too, turning completely on a side to face Earth, he put his clasped hands under his chin, "what for?"

"Being my boyfriend."

Mix laughed, "oh, yes, you should, you definitely should be thanking me for this every day."

"I'm serious," Earth breathed out, "if I didn't have you, I'm not sure how I would be handling all those things."

Mix reached out, brushing a strand of Earth's hair away, "you would have less problems without me, you know that, right? Remember my mom is somehow involved all of this too."

Earth immediately shook his head, taking Mix's hand in his, tracing his thumb over Mix's knuckles, "it would be way worse without you, doll...way worse. I love you."

Mix snuggled closer, kissing their joined hands, "I love you too. Everything will be fine. I know it will."

Two days later when they were in the middle of watching some random movie on Netflix and eating pepperoni pizza the clinic finally called. 

Earth nodded for Mix to stop the movie, and picked up the phone, "hello?"

"Mr Wtthanasetsiri?" The voice sounded young. It was most likely that young girl that was sitting behind the computer when they were at the clinic.

"Yes, that's me. Is my mother back at the clinic?" Earth said carefully. For some reason, he was expecting that it will be that older nurse who would be calling him.

"Yes, your father just dropped her off and left. Should I tell her you'll be coming today?" Earth's heart skipped a beat but he had to be patient.

"No! We won't be coming today, maybe tomorrow. I'll call you before we do."

"Alright, Mr Watthanasetsiri. We'll be awaiting your call."

"I hope I don't have to remind you that you cannot tell anything to my father."

"Of course, not!" The voice of the girl on the other side of the line got higher, Earth could almost see her shaking her head with widely open eyes. "We won't say anything."

"Good," Earth noded for himself, "I call you, then."

"Your mom is back there?" Mix asked the moment Earth put the phone back on the table.

"Yeah, he just dropped her off and left."

Mix nodded, "so, are we going there tomorrow or the day after?"

"Not sure, I might just call my father tomorrow and find out if he is already back home or not."

.....

Earth's father called the next day before Earth could call him...

"Dad?"

"Earth, why aren't you still home? It's been days! Come home right now...I have something to tell you."

That Jay is dead? That you ordered someone to kill him? Or that you were visiting my mom like you apparently do every month?

Earth sighed, "I'm not coming home yet. I'll be back when I want to. If you have something to tell me then tell me now."

"Pirapat, stop acting like a fucking brat and come home for fuck sake!"

"Have you ever considered talking to me nicely instead of just yelling? Maybe then I would actually like to be home more."

"Stop whining like a child!"

"Then stop ordering me around!" Earth raised his voice, "I'll be back in a couple of days. Is that all?"

Earth could hear the clicking of glass on glass and liquor pouring into it. Earth bit his tongue in irritation, it was only early morning in Thailand...too soon for a normal person to drink.

"Jay is dead," came Earth's father's quiet voice.

Hmm, Earth was expecting his father to hide this from Earth for as long as possible, maybe forever, "dead? What happened?"

"Overdose," Earth's father chuckled, "that idiot took drugs and on top of it drank it up with alcohol. Fucking drugs!"

"Drugs? That's weird; we are testing everyone all the time," Earth tried his best to sound as surprised and clueless as possible, the last thing he wanted was to raise suspicion in his father...not yet.

"It is...it is..."

"Well...we'll deal with the question of my new bodyguard after I come back. Later, dad," Earth hung up, shaking his head.

"What did he say?" Mix asked, putting a cup of coffee in front of Earth and sitting next to him on the sofa.

"He is back home...oh...and Jay is dead," Earth almost rolled his eyes. "He sounded as if he truly had nothing to do with Jay's death."

Mix frowned, "and what if he doesn't?"

Earth looked at Mix, a fragment of a doubt shining in Earth's eyes for a moment, "who else if not him, Mix? Who else?"
