-Do you feel better? - he asked me, when I leant to his chest.
-Not really. - i groaned.
-It stayed in. - i sighed.
-Take my hand. - he offered, and helped me stand up.
-I'm sorry.
-For what? - he raised my chin.
-Your sisters are gonna think i'm a freak. Because i disappear for half an hour and you come after me.
-They won't. And if they do, that's their fault. Wash your face, please. You still look extremely pale.
As i looked into the mirror, my white face was the first thing i saw. Fabulous. I carefully wet my face, and then dried it with a towel he handed me.
-Mer. - he stopped me, when i kept looking at the ground, ready to leave.
-Mhm?
-Just tell me if you feel sick. Again. Or nauseous. Please.
-Fine. I feel nauseous. - i told him.
-Do you want to stay?
-No. Let's go back. Just please don't make me eat anything. - i took his hand again, and locked my fingers.
-I love you. - he kissed my lips, pecking them once.
-I do too. - i exited in front of him, holding his hand as it was my vest. When we reentered the dining-room, eyes were on us. Or me, to tell the truth. I felt like i was blushing, but i knew in reality i was still as white as a wall.
-Meredith, are you okay? - his mother asked me. And i just nodded once, unsure of what to give as an explanation.
-What happened? - Nancy raised an eyebrow, watching me closely.
-I..- i started, trying to figure out what to tell her.
-Nancy, please let it go. - Derek told her in a warning voice.
-But you feel fine? Because you are really pale. Maybe you should eat something or - Kathleen offered, but the thought of food simply made me gag.
-Uhm..yeah. I'm fine. Thanks. - i told her quietly, trying to show myself confident, while my insides did backflips.
-Leave her alone. She just needs some water. And privacy. - I heard Amelia's voice out of the blue.
-Yeah, thank you. - i thanked her, and she just nodded with a 'don't thank it' look, and poured me some water.
-It's getting late. How about i start cleaning up? - her mother offered.
-We'll help you. - Derek stood up with his sisters, and i followed him.
-You stay.
-I am not sick. - i whispered to him as they started taking the first doze of plates out.
-Technically, you are. You just stay where you're at. - he held my arm warmly.
-Derek, i am helping. So let me go. Please. - i forced myself to stand up.
-Meredith, you are dizzy. And still pale. I know you. So you sit back down. Or go to the couch.
-I really hate you right now. But fine. - i gave up, knowing damn well i couldn't win this fight. I took my way towards the living-room, and some steps followed me as i sat down.
-Hey. - Amelia greeted me.
-Hi. - i smiled at her as she sat down.
-I know you probably don't want to tell me this. Derek knows. And it's enough for me. - my hand slid over my stomach unnoticeable.
Just..you know. - she shrugged her shoulder.
-It's always good to know you have someone who has your back.
-Thank you. - i smiled at her.
-You're gaining some color. - she looked at me.
-Takes time. - i told her apologetically, and soon her sisters started to arrive too, ready with the packing.

I was cuddling in bed with Derek, while Zola was deeply asleep next to us in a crib, in his room.
-Today was great. - i told him sleepy.
-Yeah. It was. - he ran his hand up to my shoulder.
-I love that Zola is so...friendly. And cute. - i added, thinking of our baby.
-Berry will be too. - his hand caressed my stomach, which was now revealed, after a full day of hiding it.
-Your sisters don't know, do they?
-No. Mum maybe. But they don't. - he assured me.
-Good. We're telling them when we know the gender, aren't we?
-Yes. - he agreed.
-Do you think Berry is a girl? Or a boy? - he questioned me, holding my stomach.
-Hmm...Based on family it's a girl. But it can always be a boy.
-What do you want it to be? - i asked him.
-Oh, Mer, i really don't care. If she's a girl, Zola will have a best friend. But if he's a boy, i'll always take him fishing. And he can protect his sisters.
-Sisters? Like in plural? - i raised an eyebrow.
-Maybe they'll have another sister. Once. - he teased me.
-Hey, cupido, first focus on pushing this one out!
-Oh, i am. Just you know. Big family.
-I know. Big family. - i agreed, wanting one.
-How heavy were you when you were born? - i asked him curiously, while i closed my eyes.
-Eight and a half pounds. - he said proudly.
-What? - i opened my eyes in disbelief.
-How big were you?
-Less than six!
-You were a chunky baby! - i pushed him slightly.
-And you are still tiny!
-How am i gonna push out a nearly nine pound baby? - i asked sarcastically.
-You can. - he chuckled.
-Hey, you are not the one who has to give birth through a small hole!
-Luckily. - he kissed my nose.
-Well, i'm gonna curse you when this baby is born. - I sighed.
-You were tiny. And i was a bit bigger. That means baby will maybe be in between. Normal.
-I hope so. - i mumbled, letting my eyes close again.
-Good night.- he hugged me to himself, keeping me in his warmth, recognizing i cannot stay awake longer.
