Hilda did not return the previous night.

Although she had school, since it was Wednesday, she didn't go. Johanna received the call, and she had to make an excuse why Hilda wasn't there. The woman packed a lunch, the family, and drove to the mountain. There, a little parking spot was, labeled for Johanna.

She stepped out, Twig slipping out through her door, Tontu opening the backdoor, Alfur and Raven with him. They walked to the mountain, Raven clearing his throat, and squawking. It opened up, a large troll waiting at the entrance.

It lit up when it saw Johanna, holding its hand out. Johanna set a granola bar in their hand, walking in with the troll. He blocked other trolls who were either excited, fighting, or still mad at humans from Johanna. He walked Johanna to Trylla's cave, bowing and walking back off.

Trylla turned, softening and looking to the small gap in her cave, "Hilda.. Your mother is here.."

The changeling curled up further, "I'm not ready.."

Johanna set the lunch bags down, Tontu offering Trylla a cute mug he found at the store that he quite liked. "Thank you, Tontu." She smiled, getting up and going over to her small hoard. "Hilda, it's rude to not at least greet visitors.."

The changeling turned, "Hi Mum.."

"Hello Darling.." She walked over, sitting by her. "You going to tell me what's wrong or do I have to wait another day.."

Hilda bit her lip, "I..Thought this would be easy..But lately..Everything has been getting the worst of me and I keep changing in the open..Turning to stone is terrifying--"

Trylla stomped over, sitting outside of the small cave, "Who said it was easy?" Johanna kissed Hilda's head. "Sweetie, nothing is easy..Take your first date with Frida! Was it easy?"

"No..I panicked for most of it.."

"Exactly! Hilda, none of us are expecting you to accept this so soon.. We expect you to take your time, learn the best and worst parts of being a troll.." Johanna combed her hair back. "If..It helps..I can pull you out of school, we can homeschool you again.."

Hilda shook her head, "I like school..I just..Want a lighter schedule.." She mumbled. "Til I get used to it.."

Johanna nodded slowly, "I'll see what I can do..In the meantime, do you want to go home, or stay here today?"

"Here please.."

Johanna ruffled her hair, "I'll see you then you little booger." Johanna leaned down, kissing Hilda's head. "I am always here if you need me, okay?"

"Thanks Mum.."

Johanna smiled, "It's what moms do. Thank me when you're married to Frida."

Hilda jolted, "Mum--"

"I'm just saying~" She set the lunch down, holding her hand out to Tontu.

He waved at Hilda, setting his bag down. Raven and Alfur bid Hilda farewell, Twig nuzzling her cheek before running after them. Trylla smiled, looking to Hilda, "You have a wonderful family, Hilda. I'd ask if you'd like to meet mine, but I only have Baba."

The little troll slipped out of her swaddle, babbling as she waddled to Hilda. "Bilda!" Baba pat her cheek. "Bbppt-"

"Hey Baba.." Hilda pat her head.

The troll sat by her, leaning against Hilda. "You can always count on us, Hilda. Since you're here on a small break, would you like to look around the cave?"
