Tuesday.

David, Hilda, and Frida were taken to David's place, and given a talk. "Why did you ditch." Johanna began.

"Grrchhk." Hilda chittered.

"Hilda, no trollish. Why, did you force Frida and David to ditch with you?" Johanna crossed her arms.

Hilda growled and huffed, turning away, "Pppffrrt kkrrch. Grrnn." Hilda sighed, looking to her mother.

"Hilda, still speaking trollish." Frida gently pat her.

Hilda paused, "Keerrk?"

David's mother sighed, "David, why did you miss school yesterday?"

"Hilda took us out."

"Why did she take you out of class."

"She heard something."

Hilda chittered softly to Frida, growling softly and snorting. "Better?" Hilda looked to Johanna.

"Yes, a bit hoarse but I understand." Johanna nodded. "Why did you ditch?"

"My King needed me." Hilda pointed in the direction of the mountain. "The roar yesterday was a cry for help."

The parents murmered with one another softly, concurring that the roar wasn't, in fact, a war cry. "I get why you took Frida with you," Frida's father began. "She's your witch, and your girlfriend. You can't be too far because you're her familiar, and Kaisa said trolls were naturally clingy."

"Am not--" Hilda turned away.

"Yes you are, when you saw me this morning you picked me up." Frida glanced down. "And still haven't put me down."

Hilda growled in suprise, quickly moving Frida out of her lap and onto the sofa. Frida stood, sitting back in Hilda's lap and huffing, "We went over this."

Chittering softly, stone reverted to skin, Hilda gently nuzzling Frida. The witch sighed quietly, relaxing finally at the warmth she needed from her girlfriend. "The King was being hurt by Ahlberg, so I reacted and kind of just took David along when I already knew to take Frida."

"Why not Kaisa on your way??" Johanna waved her hand.

"Because Mother spoke."

A silence fell over the group. "Who's mother..?" Frida's father whispered.

Hilda glanced to her trio, David shrugging, Frida nodding, gently nudging her. "Mother is the mother to all trolls. And she's asleep below us."

Hilda led the way outside the city and to the mountain, stopping for Deputy Gerda, Kaisa, and Tildy on the way. Frida's father glared, twitching when his daughter snuggled into Hilda's neck. "Honey, she's not five anymore." Frida's mother uttered.

"I know that..But she's--"

"Enjoying her girlfriend's company, let her be."

Hilda glanced back, grinning and proudly stomping forward. As she stepped into the shade of the mountain, skin turned to stone, eyes glowing blue. Frida huffed, drawing back, "Ghrrrm?"

"..I prefer skin to skin..Not skin to stone.." Frida mumbled.

Hilda shuddered, stone receding in time for her lips to press against Frida's cheek. "You're always allowed to ask me to be human."

Frida nuzzled back into the crook of her neck, sighing, "Thank you.."

Hilda stopped, looking around then back at the group, walking forward. "This way, then."

Walking through the corridors proved easy with a guide, the group eventually reaching the court room. Ahlberg was tied to a stake in the middle, the king being re-ironed by Lindworm who seemed to be healing well.

Kaisa rushed over, muttering softly as she waved her wand and melted the iron faster. Tildy shuffled forward, summoning a bowl of water which levitated in front of Ahlberg. "Witch-" The king growled.

"Calm down my King, she knows what she's doing." Hilda chittered, waving everyone in. "Find seats, Raven will be here shortly."

David hopped on Hilda's back, the changeling human jumping up and over a few trolls. David slid off, Frida being set down with caution. Ahlberg gulped down the water when it drew near, Tildy sending the bowl away, "Cruelty at its finest.." Tildy smiled.

Ahlberg gulped, panting as he let his head fall limp. "What do you mean?" Kaisa summoned her own bowl of water, pouring it over a troll's leg.

"Letting him die of thirst so soon is such a peaceful way. Feeding him or hydrating him as little as possible allows it to draw out." Tildy let out a quick, chipper hum. "Let's get the hearing started hm?"

. . .

Trolls had gathered and sat around the ring, Raven entering in his larger form with Alfur and Tontu on his head. "Ahlberg of Safety Patrol," Raven began. "You've threatened the trolls, injured minors, rang a bell, hurt Fru- Frida, the king, and brought lichen into troll grounds. How do you plead?"

"I..nnocent.." Ahlberg breathed out.

Growls came from the crowd, Tildy waving her hand, "Silence Darlings, we are almost done."

The trolls hushed, the king huffing, "He has caused too much harm. He must be disposed of.." The king spoke.

Trolls growled in agreement, nodding, "We think disposing you for causing too much damage is an option." Raven spoke. "And frankly, you don't have the power to decline."

Ahlberg shook his head, "....."

"Even if you do dispose of him legally, it will bring chaos amongst the humans." Alfur said. "They don't understand-"

"We'll make them." The King stood, wincing when his iron leg had not finished curing yet, siting down with a shake. "Bring the humans outside the mountain. We're settling this."
