Monday.
"Children!" Ms.Hallgrim clapped. "Children cease this at once!-"
"You fill your wounds with iron?!"
"That's so cool!"
"Can we see it happen-"
"Does air get trapped when it cools?"
"WHAT IF YOU WERE STABBED AS A HUMAN!"
Hilda growled, backing up into the corner, "She'll bite if you don't give her space!" David exclaimed.
A sudden glow surrounded the students, Frida sighing sharply, "Away from my girlfriend, please." She walked closer to Hilda. "She bites."
Hilda snorted, glaring at the students as Frida gently pulled her head to her thigh. "But she's got iron on her skin! That's so cool!"
"Just a quick picture--"
Hilda hissed, slinking around and hiding behind Frida. Hilda perked, looking to the mountain, Frida patting her head, "What is it, Hilda?"
The familiar let out a soft whine, jumping up and covering Frida's ears. David covered his own, the class looking confused. A deep roar echoed through the streets, the students and teacher shielding their ears. The ground lightly quaked, a hum coming from below.
Hilda shuddered, vines growing from her stone, slithering around Frida. The witch flinched, turning and hugging Hilda. The changeling lifted her up, jumping over to David, throwing him onto her back and running out of class.
"Hilda! Class isn't over yet!" Ms.Hallgrim exclaimed.
"My King needs me!" Hilda huffed. "He will not survive if I don't go--"
. . .
Frida had finally learned a spell that made a cloud follow Hilda, shielding the trio from the sun as Hilda rushed down the streets. The mountain was open, Trolls panicking, gathered in the throne room. Frida cleared her throat lightly, patting Hilda's shoulder, "Darling, you can let me go now."
Hilda flinched, stone warming up slightly, "Sorry!"
She set Frida down, the witch still. "The vines?"
Once more, Hilda flinched, muttering softly as she waved the vines away. They wrapped around Hilda, David sliding down her back. "What's going on-?" David turned.
Hilda jumped over the trolls, eyes widening and glowing red. Ahlberg glared, holding up a chipped piece of the king's arm, flower in hand. "Do you not see this? You savage beasts- I CAN END YOUR SPECIES AS WE KNOW IT!! SIT DOWN!"
The trolls growled, few letting out whines and looking to the king. "Relax my trolls..Everything will be okay.."
Silently, the trolls sat. 'Ahlberg must go-'
'Must go indeed..'
Hilda turned to Frida, then witch holding up a glowing bracelet. 'Free to roam about the cabin Darling.' Frida tapped her head.
Red eyes turned blue, the changeling glaring at the king, 'Everyone listen up.'
The trolls hushed, a silence falling over the hoard. 'Hilda speaks with no sounds-'
'King not okay!'
'What do we do!?'
'Frida says no killing. So we catch him.' Hilda growled. "We have a witch with us. Get him."
Ahlberg flinched when the growls started up again, holding the flowers out. A troll screeched and jumped forward, swiping for Ahlberg who jumped up and kicked off his head. The trolls charged forward, suprising Ahlberg. He cried out when he was grabbed and pinned, other trolls gathering to help the king stand.
His leg was chipping, few holding onto the pieces as he stumbled away. David clambered over the trolls, taking the flowers, covering the petals and pistil. He slid off, going over to Frida who set fire to it. She held her hands over it, controlling the flame.
A bell went off, the trolls roaring and backing away. "Funny..You'd think I'd come without a bell..?" Ahlberg chuckled, swaying the bell lightly in his hand. "Idiots.."
He rang the bell, David rushing forward. He jumped for the bell, Ahlberg kicking him away, Hilda growling softly as she stumbled over, covering her ears. Frida waved her wand, Ahlberg charging to her, still waving the bell.
Ahlberg roughly pushed Frida down, stepping on her wand, kicking it away when it wouldn't snap. He stepped over Frida, glaring at her as he pushed down on her chest. Hilda struggled over, blue receding to a blood red.
Trylla shook her head roughly, stumbling back and roaring. Her roar took over the bell for the trolls by her, those few soon roaring with her. As their bellows grew, the ring of trolls overpowered the bell. Hilda jumped forward, pushing Ahlberg's head to the stone, pulling his head up and slamming it down again.
She panted, growling softly before roaring into his ear. "YOU DON'T EVER TOUCH MY FRIDA! MY FRIDA! YOU STUPID HUMANS DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT SHE'S MINE TO PROTECT!!" She snorted, throwing him down and standing. "Take him away. Lock him in the court room.."
Hilda stepped on the bell, smushing it. Trylla grabbed Ahlberg, growling softly as she stomped off. Hilda helped Frida stand, the two rushing over to David who was a bit dazed. "How are you doing David?" Frida asked softly.
"I could go for a muffin right now, but my stomach hurts quite a bit." He smiled. "A liquefied muffin would help."
"I'm not making that." Frida's worried face changed to disgust. "Up, we have to clean the trolls and find Lindworm."
"Lindworm hurt, witch please help.." A troll pat Frida. "Lindworm hurt badly! No materials to help in caves!"
"He says Lindworm is hurt! Frida, please follow the troll and see if you can help out with Lindworm." Hilda gently knocked her head against Frida's. "I'm going to go check on the king-"
"Oh before they get worse-!" Frida held her hand out, wand levitating into her hold. "Everyone hold still!"
She waved her wand as she recited a quick incantation, and puff! Every troll was set ablaze, including the ground the lichen had touched, and burned out when foreign objects burnt to a crisp. Hilda lifted David up, Frida kissing Hilda's cheek before quickly following a troll through the caves.
David held onto Hilda, glancing about, "Where are off to?" He asked.
"To wait for Frida in the court room." Hilda answered. "Your parents let you watch public executions, right?"
