Hermione and Draco went out of the first compartment for their train rounds.

"Oh, we almost forgot!" Hermione exclaimed as they were about to patrol the train corridors together. "We have to meet with the Prefects first!" She told him.

"Yeah, let's go meet them at their compartment," Draco replied smirking. "We were so busy kissing, we forgot all about the Prefects," he added quietly, earning a blush and a scowl from Hermione.

She turned her back on him and proceeded to the Prefect's Compartment located at the middle of the Hogwarts Express.

Draco followed slowly, checking out his friend's nice backside. Hermione was petite but has curves on the right places. He loves the feel of her body close to his. He saw people looking at him curiously as he passed the compartments, some wear scowls and others were just surprised of seeing him again. They will be shocked when they hear he is the Head Boy, he thought.

When Hermione reached the Prefect's Compartment, she rapped the door twice then entered the unlocked door.

The Prefect's Compartment was actually four compartments combined to make it roomy for the four prefects for each house- one boy and one girl Fifth Year Prefects, and another pair of Sixth Year ones. The room looks like a sitting room with its own bathroom. Couches were arranged in a semicircle with a table on the middle, and two armchairs across from them.

The Prefects of each House were huddled together, the Slytherins and Gryffindors were as far apart as possible, so the Hufflepuffs sat close to the lions, while the Ravenclaws sat beside the snakes. They all look up to see the person entering their compartment.

"Good day!" Hermione greeted, smiling nervously at all the eyes looking at her. She wondered what is taking Draco so long to enter the room. "I'm Hermione Granger, this year's Head Girl," she told them.

"Of course, you will be," Ginny replied, grinning.

"Ginny! You didn't tell me you were a Prefect," Hermione exclaimed, pulling her into a hug when Ginny stood up to greet her.

"There were more important matters to talk about, so I forgot. You did too," Ginny replied quietly.

"I just found out a while ago from Professor McGonagall's letter," she replied, letting her go, but still holding her at arms length.

"Who's Head Boy then?" a Fifth Year Ravenclaw asked.

"I'm Head Boy," Draco drawled, entering the compartment, his head held high, and his grey eyes cold.

"You?!" Most of the prefects yelled in shock and/or disgust. The other prefects just stared at him, not knowing what to say.

"Is that a joke?" Dennis Creevey, the Gryffindor Fifth Year Prefect asked, scowling at Draco. His older brother, Colin, died during the battle of Hogwarts.

Hermione could not take the rants about Draco anymore. "Yes, Draco Malfoy is this year's Head Boy. If any of you has a problem with that, then tell it to Professor McGonagall," she stated.

"McGonagall's as crazy as Dumbledore then, if she chose that Death Eater," Michael Corner, the Ravenclaw Sixth Year said.

"Draco's been cleared of all charges!" Hermione replied, her head pounding from irritation. "If you or any of you have any problem with him, just ask Professor McGonagall that you don't want to be Prefects anymore," she added angrily.

Luna Lovegood, the Ravenclaw Sixth Year Prefect, stood up, then said in her calm voice, "I agree with Hermione, Prefects who have a problem with the arrangements should take their leave. We Prefects should be the ones displaying House Unity first, and should not be having silly arguments based on the past."

"You are so right, Luna," Ginny agreed, looking at a cool Draco, and a fuming Hermione.

"Are you okay with Malfoy being Head Boy, Hermione?," Dennis asked.

"Yes, I am," Hermione replied to the younger Gryffindor.

"If you are okay with it, then so are we," he replied, the other Gryffindors nodded to this.

"Then, that settles it. Let's sit and hear what the Head Boy and Girl have to say," Ginny announced.

Draco and Hermione seated themselves on the armchairs facing the Prefects once everyone's calmed down.

Surprisingly, nothing was heard from Draco's fellow Slytherins during the protests of the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws. The Hufflepuffs were just watching and waiting.

"Let's check our attendance first, just raise your hand when I call your name," Hermione announced. She opened McGonagall's letter and read the names on the list written there:

Sakura Akagi, Fifth Year Gryffindor
Dennis Creevey, Fifth Year Gryffindor
Ginevra Weasley, Sixth Year Gryffindor
Pete Balsall, Sixth Year Gryffindor

Zoe Accrington, Fifth Year Slytherin
Uchi Akimbo, Fifth Year Slytherin
Tabitha Bainbridge, Sixth Year Slytherin
Malcolm Baddock, Sixth Year Slytherin

Pamela Alton, Fifth Year Ravenclaw
Jatin Agarkar, Fifth Year Ravenclaw
Luna Lovegood, Sixth Year Ravenclaw
Michael Corner, Sixth Year Ravenclaw

Poppy Caxton, Fifth Year Hufflepuff
Patrick Bagby, Fifth Year Hufflepuff
Linda Chaddlessey, Sixth Year Hufflepuff
Martin Beccles, Sixth Year Hufflepuff

After Hermione finished calling out the Prefects, she told them their responsibilities and also their privileges, including the use of the Prefects' Bathroom. She also set up their first meeting date within the week so they could discuss their patrolling schedules.

Draco remained quiet all throughout the meeting, as well as the other four Slytherins present.

Hermione understands Draco's silence, she knows about the Ministry's conditions for him, and it seems that silence is his way to stay out of trouble.

After the meeting, Hermione and Draco went out to make their rounds on the train, while the Prefects stayed at their compartment until it is time for them to escort the First Years out of the train.
