Hermione was absolutely mad at her best friend now. She tried to be calm during their talk, but what he just said was the last straw- implying that she has inferior blood, comparing her to slags, and worst of all telling her that nobody would want her without ulterior motives. It hurts her so much that her best friend thinks of her that way, so she just walked out on him, not wanting to do or say something she'll regret. How she wanted to hex him!

Harry and Ginny were both shocked at Ron's words. They both thought what he said was too much.

Ginny hastily followed Hermione, while Harry went closer to Ron to scold him.

"You shouldn't have been harsh to Hermione, she's your best friend," Harry started, trying his best to be calm, knowing how Ron is when he's angry.

"You were not the one who's been dumped in place of scum, so you have no right to tell me anything," Ron replied, fuming.

"I thought you care for her, how could you say those things to her?" Harry prodded, sitting down across from his best friend. "Even if she did chose Malfoy, she's still our best friend, the one who's always had our backs since first year at Hogwarts," he added.

"She knows how much I love her, but she threw it all away because of that ferret! I thought they won't even last for a few days because she would see he is just using her. Can't you see it, Harry? He's just using her, and when he's all high and mighty again, he'll just dump her like the filthy mudblood he thinks she is," Ron ranted.

"Hermione knows what she's doing, I know you are just concerned for her acting like that. But how will that help her in any way? You'll just drive her away from you. Just trust her with this, and be her best friend. I honestly think that she's happy with Malfoy, and that's good enough for me," Harry told him seriously, standing up and walking away.

"Hermione, wait!" Ginny called to her friend who was about to floo on the Burrow's fireplace.

Hermione turned around to see her girl best friend. Hermione's eyes are moist from trying to control her tears, Ginny noticed.

"I'm so sorry for my stupid brother, 'Mione," Ginny told her, hugging her.

"Gin, it's not your fault," Hermione told her, hugging the younger girl back.

"I know, but you should know what's he's said is just a bunch of crap," she replied, letting her go and just holding her hands. "Especially the part that you are not beautiful and sweet," she added grinning, to relieve the tension.

Hermione gave her a small smile, knowing that her friend just wanted to cheer her up.

"He just still can't accept that you left him for a gorgeous guy like Draco. We hot girls like bad boys," Ginny said, winking at her.
