Chapter 57- Hermione's Birthday (Part 4)

Draco's plan went smoothly. The birthday girl enjoyed the party he has planned for her. Even the weasel behaved and did not make a scene.

The party was supposed to last for only two hours, but the guests just thinned slowly at the third hour, leaving only Hermione's closest friends to tidy up the Room of Requirement.

After finishing the cleanup, Hermione, Draco, Ginny, Harry, Ron, Luna, and Neville started saying their goodnights and goodbyes.

"Good night and happy birthday again, Hermione," Luna said, hugging her lightly.

"Thanks, Luna," Hermione replied happily.

"Thank your boyfriend, he did most of the work," she told her in her sweet voice. Luna waved at her and skipped towards the door.

"Good night, Hermione," Neville told her.

"Good night to you too," she replied, taking his offered hand to shake it.

"I still can't believe that Malfoy would do something like this. You really have changed him for good," he said quietly so that nobody would hear.

Hermione blushed at his comment, knowing how special she feels at the moment. "I honestly can't either," she whispered conspiratorially, giving him a wide smile.

Neville waved at her as he walked away, he also nodded at Draco who was leaning against a wall, observing the exchanges between those who were left.

Ginny, Harry, and Ron came together to say good night.

Harry hugged her tightly as they came closer to her. "Happy birthday, Hermione," he greeted again.

"Thanks for being here, Harry," she told him, holding him too.

"Seems like the ferret really likes you," he whispered to her. "Maybe I might call a truce with him seeing how happy you are with him," he added thoughtfully.

"I would love that, Harry. Thank you," Hermione replied happily, squeezing him in the process.

Harry let go when he heard Ron's obviously fake cough. "Good night and see you soon, Hermione," he told her.

"Happy birthday, Hermione," Ron greeted, taking Harry's place, and hugging the girl he loves so much.

"Thanks, Ron," she replied, holding him too.

"I'll see you again soon, good night," Ron told her, kissing her cheek.

"Good night, Ron," Hermione replied, trying to break away subtly from his embrace.

Draco wanted to hex the weasel for touching his girlfriend, but he trusts Hermione and let them be.

Ginny saw Hermione's discomfort, so she tapped her brother's shoulder. "I think we should all go now, it's really late," she told them.

"Yeah, come on, Ron," Harry agreed, seeing Malfoy staring daggers at them. He doesn't want Malfoy to loose his cool, for Hermione's sake.

Ron let Hermione go reluctantly. "I promise I'll see you again soon," he told her seriously, squeezing her hand lightly. "Bye for now," he added, smiling at her.

"Bye, Ron," she replied, returning his smile awkwardly.

"Let's go, I'll escort you to the hump-backed witch," Ginny invited Harry and Ron. "See you tomorrow, Hermione, you too Draco," she added, pulling her brother and boyfriend to the door.

"Bye, Malfoy," Harry called back once outside the door. Draco just nodded at him in response.

Hermione walked towards Draco once the door has been closed. "Thanks so much, Draco," she told him, hugging him tightly. "This is the best party ever," she added.

"You are most welcome," he replied quietly, holding her. "May I have another dance before we retire to our chambers, princess?" He asked her.

"Of course, my prince," she replied, smiling widely at him.

Music suddenly sounded again at the Room of Requirement, enabling them to dance at the slow and sweet sound.
