Chapter 2- Draco's Trial (Part 2)

'What the hell Potter and Granger are doing here at my trial?!' Draco thought to himself. Then he remembered his mother's trial a week before, it was surely an unexpected one.

(Draco's Flashback)
"May I now call on our witness for this trial, Mr. Harry Potter." the Minister declared.

Harry Potter walked in the room for Narcissa Malfoy's trial and stood at the witness' stand to take his oath to tell the truth.

"Mr. Potter, in behalf of the Wizengamot present here, please do tell us what you know about the accused, Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy, wife of convicted Death Eater, Lucius Malfoy. What did she do during the war that took place in Hogwarts last May?" the Minister asked Harry.

"Mrs. Malfoy helped me." Harry simply said. The whole room stared at him shocked at his statement. The Wizengamot talked amongst themselves, whispering their speculations of why would the Chosen One said that.

"Silence!" Kingsley demanded. "Kindly elaborate your statement, Mr. Potter." he requested.

"During the war at Hogwarts, when I was at the Forbidden Forest with Voldemort and his supporters, Voldemort killed me and thought I was really dead. I was lying at the center of the clearing, pretending that I was dead. Voldemort asked Mrs. Malfoy to check if I was really dead so she knelt beside me, I had felt her hair covering both our faces as she felt for my pulse. She asked me quietly if her son is still alive, and I told her that I saw him at Hogwarts alive. She then stood up and with a loud voice declared that I was indeed dead. So for doing that, lying to Voldemort about me being dead, she helped me to defeat Voldemort." Harry stated looking at the Wizengamot seated in the room.

The whole Wizengamot broke into another quiet discussion amongst themselves.

Draco, who was sitting at the seats labeled "for the defendant's family" was shocked at what Potter said. His mother did not tell him about this. He visited her everyday at her detention cell, then comes back to his own cell after visiting hours. They were both imprisoned at the Ministry of Magic's detention chambers together with Voldemort's other supporters labeled as "Class B and C"- those witches and wizards who were under question if they were just Imperiused, at least one of their immediate family was a Class A Death Eater, or as for Draco, they were underage when they became Death Eaters. The "Class A" were each assigned a cell in Azkaban with Aurors and Dementors as guards.

"Silence!" Kingsley said again. "Thank you Mr. Potter for your statement. The Wizengamot is now requested to cast their votes for the accused."

(Draco's Trial)

Potter saved his mother from the Dementor's Kiss during her trial. Now it was his own trial and Potter was also here as a witness together with one of his sidekicks. Draco's future seems to be under his old schoolmates, that did not give him any confidence at all, after all he was the one who almost killed their Headmaster and Potter was Dumbledore's pet, while Granger was always the Number One student of their year (and all the other years combined, previous or even in the future years).
