The rest of September dragged excruciatingly slowly for the Seventh Years who started getting loads of school work during its last week.
October started busily for them too, essays needed to be written and reviewed, spells to be practiced, and add to it the responsibilities of being the Head Boy/Girl for Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger.
Despite their busy schedules, Hermione and Draco's relationship still thrived. They always make time for each other, may it be a few minutes everyday just to talk to each other and share a few kisses, or an hour together during the weekends.
Meanwhile, Ron Weasley kept on sending Hermione owls at least once a week, may it be a letter, or a box of chocolates, or a bouquet of flowers, just to remind her that he misses her.
Hermione always accepted Ron's gifts cautiously, with Ginny trying the chocolates out first to make sure they weren't laced with love potions. She always makes her replies short and platonic too, not wanting him to think that she's giving him another chance to be her boyfriend. She is still so in love with Draco Malfoy, thank you very much.

October will be coming to a close in a few days, and gratefully the amount of school work to be done had immensely decreased due to the coming Halloween Feast.
But being the Head Boy and Girl, they were assigned by the Headmistress to oversee the decorating of the Great Hall by the Prefects.
"Do you think the cobwebs on the ceiling are enough?" Ginny asked Hermione when they were adding finishing touches to the decorations.
"Well, Ron would think that hundreds of spiders have spun those webs," she commented, fascinated with the real looking webs adorning the ceilings.
"Speaking of my brother, what did he send this week?" Ginny asked quietly, seeing Draco Malfoy approaching Luna Lovegood, who was enchanting some pumpkins to turn into creepy-looking jack-o-lanterns, across from them.
"Another letter, plus some chocolate frogs," she replied. "It's quite tiring replying to his letters. I mean, he always say the same things. I'm already itching to charm my reply to just replicate it. If only I have a computer and printer here, I would just copy and paste it, then reprint my messages to him," Hermione said exasperatedly.
"What's that?" Ginny asked her, still checking the ceilings for her cobwebs.
"A muggle device used for writing," she replied. "Maybe you could put some real spiders there," she suggested.
"That will make Ron squirm if he's here. I'll just charm some candies to look and scurry like spiders, I don't want real spiders falling on my food during the feast," Ginny replied grinning.
The prefects finished decorating the Great Hall the night before Halloween. They used concealment charms so that all will be revealed the following evening.
The decors were marvelous, real-looking spiders hang on the webs from the ceiling; laughing pumpkin heads with candles inside were floating above the house tables; other spooky decorations adorned the rest of the hall; the House-elves were assigned to cook Halloween treats like fanged caramel apples, eyeball meatballs, and bloody chicken fingers to name a few; and the Hogwarts ghosts were assigned to play eerie music and roam the Great Hall for the Halloween Feast, passing through the students while they are at it.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••"I hope everything will go according to plan tomorrow," Hermione told Draco once they were in their common room.
"I hope so too," Draco replied yawning as they sat on the couch.
After a while, Hermione snuggled against him on the couch, feeling comfortable as he slid his arms around her body.
They always seem to find themselves sleeping on the common room couch every now and then as they snuggled against each other, both feeling comfortable as they lay down together doing nothing until they fall asleep.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Their classes seemed to fly by that Halloween morning and early afternoon. Almost all the students were excited on the coming feast that night, and wanted their classes to end immediately.
The school always make sure that the students enjoy the Halloween Feast since it is the only school event that all the students were there to celebrate it.
The Professors were satisfied with the efforts put up by the prefects for the feast. The students were also delighted with the realistic decorations, the haunting music played by the school ghosts while roaming around the hall, and the savory foods prepared by the hardworking elves.
All the students were surprised when Headmistress McGonagall called the Weird Sisters, a popular wizard band, to perform in front of the House tables, making the students scream in excitement.
The Halloween Feast successfully ended at almost midnight, much to the delight of the prefects who have put so much effort for the event.

"Thank Merlin, it's Sunday tomorrow," Ginny said, tired but happy.
"Yeah, we could sleep in all morning," Neville agreed to his fellow Gryffindor. "You guys did a wonderful job by the way," he added.
"Thanks, Neville," she replied. "Hey, you two," she said turning to Draco and Hermione. "Good night, I really need my sleep now," she told them.
"Good night too, Gin," Hermione replied, giving her friend a light embrace. "See you at lunch tomorrow," she added, knowing how tired her friend was with all the decorating during the past few days.
"If I'm already awake during lunch, that is," Ginny replied grinning. "Let's go, Neville," she said, pulling him towards the doors.
"Good night, guys," Neville called to Hermione and Draco.
"Good night, Neville," Hermione replied.
"Come on, let's get some rest too," Draco told Hermione, holding her hand.
When the two reached their Common Room, they simply went to lie down on the couch together, too sleepy and tired to even change their clothes.
They both slept peacefully again that night, being together always chases all their nightmares away.
