Chapter 56- Hermione's Birthday (Part 3)

Hermione and Ginny returned to school, while Harry and Ron went to George's shop after their meeting at the Three Broomsticks.

Hermione was glad that Ron and Harry respected her relationship with Draco, it means a lot to her that her best friends accept her choice. She also knows that Draco will be happy that they don't have to keep their relationship a secret anymore, and she is too.

When they arrived at Hogwarts, Ginny suddenly pulled her to the direction of the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Come on, Hermione! No time to waste," Ginny cried excitedly, as they went inside Ginny's dormitory.

"What's your hurry, Gin?" She asked her friend as she was put onto a chair in front of a dresser.

"I want to make you more beautiful on your birthday," Ginny told her, brushing Hermione's hair.

"We'll just have dinner tonight at the Great Hall, Ginny, there's no need to fuss," she replied as Ginny started fixing her hair.

"It doesn't matter where we are having dinner. It's your special day, so you have to look your best," the redhead replied, getting her wand to secure Hermione's hair.

Hermione just smiled at her friend, knowing it's best not to argue with her fiery friend.

Ginny started putting makeup on the birthday girl, choosing natural colors for her down-to-earth friend. After she was satisfied with her work, she Accioed the gown she ordered for her.

Hermione saw the gown and was surprised that Ginny bought something so expensive for her birthday. "Ginny, that's too much," she told her friend.

"Don't worry, Hermione," Ginny laughed lightly at her shocked friend. "I didn't pay for that, Draco did," she told her.

"Ginny, what's going on?" She asked curiously as she slipped on the golden yellow gown.

Ginny Accioed a pair of silver shoes to complete her friend's outfit. "You'll see, Princess," she replied smirking at her.

Hermione indeed looks like a princess in her gown as she looked at herself on the mirror.

Ginny started preparing herself once she finished with Hermione, wearing a dark green gown and a darker makeup.

"Your prince will be arriving in a few minutes," Ginny informed her when she finished putting on her shoes. "Let's go down to the Common Room," she suggested.

"Alright," Hermione agreed, feeling suddenly excited as she looked at her lively friend.

Draco rechecked everything for the party at the Room of Requirement. After making sure all was perfect, he excused himself from Neville and Luna to change.

He went to the Head's Dorm to put on the clothes Ginny bought for him. It was a muggle type of clothing which according to Ginny is what Princes wear. He put on white pants, a white long-sleeved shirt, then a blue tailcoat.

He was relieved to see that it doesn't look bad on him, and it was comfortable. He checked the time and saw that he needs to fetch Hermione (and Ginny) at the Gryffindor Common Room in less than half an hour.

He rechecked his hair on the mirror before going out, wanting everything to be perfect for his girlfriend.

Harry and Ron, with George tugging along, went to Aberforth Dumbledore's bar to smuggle themselves inside Hogwarts. They emerged from the painting of Arianna Dumbledore at the Room of Requirement and saw that the room was decorated for Hermione's surprise birthday party.

The three boys saw their friends, Luna and Neville, from the crowd and they approached them.

"Hi guys!" Neville greeted the boys approaching Luna and him.

"Neville, Luna," Harry greeted back, shaking their hands.

"Hello, Harry," Luna replied, smiling warmly at him. "Hi, Ron and George," she said, turning to the Weasley boys.

"Hi, Luna and Neville," George greeted back, nodding at the two students.

"Where's Hermione?" Ron asked Luna, searching the room for the birthday girl. He saw that the room was decorated like a castle court would. "Who organized this anyway?" He asked bluntly, hoping that it was not the Ferret's idea- that would make Hermione like him more.

"She'll be here any minute," she replied. "Draco would escort her," she added offhandedly, her focus dwindling as her eyes roamed the room, searching for nargles.

"It's Draco's," Neville replied when Luna lost her attention on their friends and started going about the room.

"It's Draco now for you too, Neville?" Ron asked annoyedly.

"Well, yeah. I suppose it doesn't bother him that I call him that since he calls me Neville now," he replied casually.

"What's wrong with you guys?" Ron asked exasperated. "This is crazy! All of you getting chummy with that Death Eater!" He exclaimed, earning looks from the other guests.

"Ron, stop being a prick," George scolded his younger brother. "Just be civilized if you can't be nice. Remember what mom did when you went berserk on the young Malfoy before?" He reminded him.

"You lost your twin because of him!" Ron fought back.

"No, Ron. We lost Fred because he was brave and wanted the war to end. Don't blame it on Draco Malfoy, he was just a boy who doesn't have a choice," George said wisely. Of course it still hurts that Fred is gone, but blaming it on someone is quite pointless now since nobody can bring him back. He just wants to move on, and forget about the bloody war. What he wants to remember is Fred's life, the life he lived with him.

Ron was fuming, he thought George will understand what he's feeling, but clearly he doesn't. It's as if everybody got Obliviated and forgotten about the war.

"Ron, it's our best friend's birthday," Harry reminded him. "Please, calm down for Hermione's sake," he added, placing his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Fine," he mumbled, trying to calm himself. He needs to behave if he wants to get Hermione back. Then she was there on the doorway, hand in hand with the Ferret, with his little sister in tow.
