It's been weeks since I last posted a chapter for this story. I've been quite busy and uninspired to continue this. Thanks for reading, I really appreciate knowing some people read my stories :)

Draco Malfoy found himself near the Black Lake, sitting on a boulder after a while of walking aimlessly.

He first thought of going to the Slytherin dungeons but decided against it, knowing he was not welcome there anymore. He was not even sure if he still has friends there, most had steered away from him ever since the school started. Only the girls seemed to mind his existence, still wanting him to notice them.

Pansy Parkinson still talks and flirts with him sometimes, which makes it seem something is still normal in his life.

He watched as the Giant Squid lifted one of its tentacles out of the lake, making large ripples on the water.

"Draco," a soft feminine voice called to him.

Draco looked over his shoulder to see Luna Lovegood standing a few feet away from him. "Lovegood," he greeted back, nodding at the smiling girl.

"Where's Hermione?" She asked him, sitting on another boulder nearby.

"At our dorms," he replied curtly. He still find her weird, but he was more comfortable with her than with any of Hermione's other friends. Her innocence is striking, but there was also a hint of wisdom in everything she says.

"She's probably busy studying then," Luna said. "She's always been like that, and it makes Harry and Ron crazy," she told him.

"Yeah, it's quite irritating actually," he replied honestly. "Was she always like that? The exams are still ages away," he asked her.

"Yes, of course. It's her priority, you know," Luna replied, gazing at the Black Lake. "Hermione loves her studies, but don't take it personally, Draco. I know she loves you too," she told him matter of factly.

"Thanks, Lovegood," Draco replied shortly.

"Just give her some space and time, she has a short fuse sometimes," Luna advised.

"Alright, thanks again," he nodded at the blonde witch, who was already standing up.

"See you at dinner," she said in her dreamy voice, skipping away from him.

Draco continued on his musings after Luna left him. He was quite satisfied with everything that has happened recently, including the death of his father.

Without his father, he could choose to do what he likes. He has also found a new family with his mother's sister Andromeda Tonks, and his cousin's son, Teddy Lupin. His mother seemed to be the happiest he has ever seen her now that she was reunited with her better sister (the worst being Bellatrix, who was killed during the war).

It was also quite surprising for everyone that his relationship with Hermione is still going well. Even with all of Weasley's tactics trying to win Hermione back, she still choose him over her best friend, making him feel proud and happy.

Hermione also encourages him to be a better person, her kind and brave heart saved him from rotting inside out. He feels that she's all he has ever needed to be the best he can be, and hoping that she'll forever be with him- and with that conclusion, he just know what to do next.
