On the twenty-ninth of December, Hermione Granger, together with her fiancé, Draco Malfoy, and her best friend, Ginny Weasley travelled to Australia via portkey, courtesy of Kingsley Shacklebolt, the present Minister of Magic.

They arrived in an all-wizard town in New South Wales at the crack of dawn. From there, they apparated to various towns and cities searching for Hermione's parents. They only rested to eat and to use the loo, wanting to cover as much of the possible locations as they could within the day.

They finally called it a day after Ginny had complained that she's getting a migraine from too much apparating. Not wanting to splinch her friend, Hermione agreed to take shelter in a nearby hotel at almost eleven o'clock that evening.

Hermione procured a suite with two bedrooms at Draco's suggestion. The suite was comfortable enough but not really to Draco Malfoy's standards, but he opted not to complain since he too was completely spent from apparating fifteen times that day.

After ordering some snacks from the hotel's restaurant, while Draco showered, Hermione reviewed her list of locations. Ginny was splayed across the sofa while waiting for their food to arrive.

The doorbell rang and Hermione walked to the door, her wand hidden behind her. She peeked through the door's peep-hole to see who's behind the door, practicing constant vigilance as per the late Alastor Moody.

Fortunately, it was only from the hotel service bringing them their food. Hermione took the tray, then thanked the hotel attendant for bringing their order and closed the door swiftly afterwards.

They ate their food in silence, the three of them exhausted from all their traveling. After agreeing to wake up at six in the morning, they all stood up to go to their bedrooms, with Draco leading Hermione to theirs.

"Hope tomorrow will be successful, I cannot wait to see them again," Hermione whispered as they both lay down to sleep, not bothering to change their clothes.

"Don't worry, love. We will find them soon," Draco assured her, knowing that time is not at their side. They need to go back to Hogwarts in a few days after New Year's Eve.

They both slept immediately after Hermione set an alarm to the clock on the bedside table. They should wake up early to maximise their time for their search.

Three whole days of searching, still with no luck. They are supposed to go back to school in three days time.

Now it was already New Year's Eve, the three of them were walking in a crowded street, trying to find another supposed location of her parents. This town was already their 35th town since they started their search.

"Hopefully we wouldn't need to scourge all 52 towns that has Monica and Wendell Wilkins," Ginny muttered under her breath, she was just so tired for the times they have apparated. Also, she misses her family especially tonight. New Year's Eve dinner is always special at the Burrow, every Weasley present at their home.

Hermione was busy ahead of her, perusing her map and searching for the house with the address of the Wilkins' on her list.

Draco was walking behind the two ladies, observing their surroundings for any unwanted signs, they need to be alert at all times since there are still Death Eaters the Ministry of Magic has not captured yet.
