Marcus and Mabel looked up at the new house that they would be living in for the time being. Both of them had plastic bags full of clothes that Florence had scrambled from the precinct. Marcus was fidgeting from where he stood, he knew Florence was behind him, but all he wanted to do was run back to where Daphne and Burgundy were in the car.
Florence stepped ahead of them and knocked at the door. Instead of an adult, a little boy with curly auburn hair popped the door open and looked up at them, "Who the hell are you?"
"Dustie-" A woman, who was obviously his mother, laughed nervously as she pushed him behind her, "Please ignore my son, he's had a long day." Her smile brightened, "Oh! You must be the two kids I'll be watching over, hi!"
"Wait-" The little kid shot his head up and looked at his mom, "Watching over?"
"Meet your new siblings."
"You've got to be shitting me."
"Dustie!" Mrs. Henderson exclaimed horrified. She faced the two kids, "Sorry, about him. This is my beautiful boy, Dustin."
Mabel gave the kid an awkward wave, "Hey."
Marcus continued to rock on his feet at all the nerves he felt, "Thank you for uh... letting us stay here."
"Not a problem, come on in." Mrs. Henderson extended her arm to allow the two inside, "Florence, I've got this handled."
Florence nodded her head, "You two behave yourselves here."
Mrs. Henderson shut the door behind her, "I hope you don't mind sharing a room."
"It's fine." Mabel smiled but was distracted as her eyes caught sight of a cat, "Who is this cutie?" She dropped down to her knees and picked the cat up, "Why hello."
Mrs. Henderson's eyes lit up at the thought of having another cat lover in her home, "His name is Mews."
Marcus rubbed his nose as he felt his body get congested at the sight of the cat. He turned back and opened the door, "Florence!"
"Hm?"
"Thank you." Marcus called to her. He glanced back at Mrs. Henderson, "Could I have your number please? I'd like to give it to my friends so they can contact us."
"Sure thing honey." Mrs. Henderson stood up and scrawled her number down on a couple pieces of paper, "Here you are, and I never did get your names."
"I'm Marcus and that's Mabel." He answered quickly before giving the sheets of paper to Florence.
Dustin was still inside the living room looking around at them in a mixture of disgust and awe. Mabel glanced over at him and honestly felt bad since they were interjecting in his life. "Hey. Is that superhero comics?"
