Daphne sat up from her shared bed with El and glanced over at her. She had gotten home after Hopper had already passed out. She was glad that Mabel's friend didn't ask why the hell she wanted to be dropped off where she was dropped off. Actually, he didn't really talk at all, which she was grateful for as well.

A knock appeared on the other side of the door, which drew her attention, "Rise and shine."

Daphne glanced over at El, only to watch her roll over on the bed with a scowl on her face.

"So that's it, huh? You're still not talking? And Daphne, you too? All right. I guess I'm just gonna have to, uh... enjoy this triple-decker Eggo extravaganza on my own."

Eleven sat up abruptly at the sound of it and moved her attention to Daphne, "Extra... vag...anza?"

Breathing out, Daphne glanced at the door, "Come on."

She got herself ready for school as El waited patiently. Daphne opened the door herself and watched as Hopper put a pile of whipped cream on top of some eggos.

Hopper smiled over at them, "Come on, eat."

Daphne took her normal seat and pushed the whipped cream off of her eggos. She watched El start to eat her own food and glanced over at Hopper.

"Good right? Know the great thing about it? It's only 8,000 calories."

"I don't think El understands calories." Daphne mumbled.

Hopper pursed his lips and nodded his head as silence came over them. He waited a moment before breaking the silence, "You visited him again last night?"

"He says he needs me."

"Want me to check on him?" Hopper offered, "I know that you miss him, all right? But it's too dangerous. You're the last thing he needs right now. You're gonna see him. Soon. And not just in that head of yours. You're gonna see him in real life. I feel like I'm making progress with these people."

Daphne scowled at this. She set her fork down and leaned back in her seat.

"Friends don't lie."

Hopper grew surprised, "What?"

"You say soon on day 21." El pointed out, "You say soon on day 205. You now say soon on day 326?"

"What is this?" Hopper furrowed in surprise, looking over at Daphne for assistance but she was silent, "You're counting the days now like you're some kind of prisoner?"

Daphne punched the bridge of her nose, "Hopper..."

"When is soon?"

"Soon is when it's not dangerous anymore."

"When?" Eleben pressed even further.

"I don't know."

"On day 500?"
